Lucas frowned as Clover moved away from him, biting her lip. “I-I... I don’t really know how to.” She seemed almost afraid of him. Lucas lowered the arm holding the guitar. Had he pushed her too far?
"Ah can show ya if ya want," he offered, smiling softly at her. "It's not that hard. More about memory most of the time. And it always comes out lovely in the end."
Lucas didn't move closer to her, he didn't want to scare her. But he did smile warmly and set the guitar between them. "Go ahead, it won't bite," he joked.

Clover bit her lip a bit once more and she lifted herself and lightly grabbed the guitar. She held it awkwardly in her hands at first but then afterward it came quite naturally as she held it.
She traced her fingers along the strings and pushed down on them a bit and a weird twang sounded as she plucked the string. There was a lot of buzzing as she pushed on the frets incorrectly.
The string then buzzed a bit and hit her finger. "Ah, you lied, it did bite me!" She hissed jokingly, pulling her finger back to look at a small red mark on her finger.

Lucas smiled as Clover grasped the guitar, taking a moment before holding it perfectly. It seemed to look just... right in her hands. His smile widened to a grin. She plucked a few strings. The sight filled with a good feeling.
No one else had really touched his guitar save his family and some friends back home. He always thought he'd be angry or upset when someone else touched it, but now as Clover sat there picking out staccato notes with a happy look on her face, it made him feel great. Like he'd done the deed of the hour.
There was a twanging noises and Clover looked up at him, though she didn't look upset. "Ah, you lied, it did bite me!" She joked, showing him the red mark on her finger. Lucas shook his finger in a chastifying manner at the wooden instrument. "Now now, guitar," he scolded. "That's no way to treat a new friend."
Smiling, he moved up to sit on the same step she was. "Don't worry about that. It happens to me all the time." He smiled. "Ya look good with it. Ah wanna say... natural." He looked over at her. "Would Ah be correct in thinking that?"

She smiled as she played a bit, starting to figure out a small tune that she always played on the piano. She liked plucking the strings of the guitar, it felt so peaceful to pluck two strings at once. She looked up at Lucas when he spoke and shook his finger. "Now now, guitar. That's no way to treat a new friend." She smiled at what he said. ‘New friend’. She really liked that someone was considering her as their friend. She smiled warmly up at him.
When someone had very few friends, they truly appreciated it when someone said something like this to them. She looked back to the guitar and lightly put a piece of her hair behind her ear again to keep her eyes clear.
She finally didn’t move away when he sat beside her because she was actually comfortable around him now. "Ya look good with it. Ah wanna say... natural. Would Ah be correct in thinking that?" She smiled warmly but laughed, “I look good all the time.” She joked. She kept playing and she had clearly figured out the tune to Somewhere Only We Know by Keane. She smiled to herself, “Thank you for this.” She said looking up at him. She was really grateful of this.

“I look good all the time.” Clover joked, laughing warmly. Lucas laughed too. Spunky, she was. It made him happy to hear another person laughing and joking around. “Thank you for this.”Lucas shook his hand at her absently. "Bah, not a problem at all," he grinned. "Thank ya for being here so Ah could do this." He smiled. She was a nice girl. It was a shame how sick she was most of the time. Lucas had never really bothered delving into what other people said about Clover. Hear-say always caused controversy. Now that he was actually communicating with her, he didn't really care what others said. Plus, she didn't seem sick to him right now. Still, best to take things light. All of a sudden, he felt like singing. Something, anything. He leaned back, stretching out over the steps and looking up at the ceiling. "Never been so eager, not to this extent. Can't imagine leaving, I'm comfortably obsessed." He closed his eyes, tapping his foot gently, and slowly rocking his head back and forth. "Seems misleading, such a far outstretch. But I mean every word I say. When you slow down, all the details spill out. It's no accident how you fell right into my arms. It's no accident how you fell right into my arms." He hummed a little more before looking up at Clover. "Ya like the Honorary Title?" he asked, referring to the band that sang the song.

Clover was a very curious person to learn about. Everyone knew about her illness and it had to be that way in case something happened. No one picked on her because of her being ill, they tended to pity her a lot. She couldn’t help but wonder what Lucas was thinking of right now. He seemed to be lost in his thoughts.
Very few bad things were said about Clover except when Slytherins spoke of her. They hated her and despised her as she was a ‘half-breed’; part witch part werewolf. They picked on Chris a bit but bothered Clover more. Maybe it was because she let it bother her. Perhaps if she acted as though the teasing had no effect on her, she would be perfectly fine.
She looked at Lucas and she couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking of her. Maybe she was a little suspicious of what others thought of her and she had bad experiences of someone being her friend and then turning on her. His name was Jude.
She listened to him sing and she couldn’t help but smile. He seemed to be a very optimistic person and she couldn’t help but smile when she was around him. "Ya like the Honorary Title?”
“I’ve never heard of them, but the lyrics sound beautiful.” She smiled. She then sighed and noticed something going through his mind, “Lucas...what do you know about me?” She suddenly asked, looking over to him.

“I’ve never heard of them, but the lyrics sound beautiful.” Lucas heard the smile in her voice. It was funny how you could hear things like that in people's voices. He smiled himself, nodding his head.
“Lucas...what do you know about me?”
The smile definitely wasn't there anymore. Lucas opened his eyes. She was looking at him and he turned his head to meet her gaze. "What do Ah know about ya?" He repeated, looking at her curiously. He sat up, wrapping his arms around his knees. "Well, before Ah actually met ya Ah just knew that ya were..." He paused, trying to figure out how to word it. "That ya were... very unfortunate. Ah felt bad that you were hurt all the time, and Ah meant to talk to ya one day. Honest. It happened sooner thant Ah thought, and Ah'm glad it did." He smiled, turning to look outside where the snow fall had lessened somewhat. "Now, now Ah know that ya are smart, talented, and very strong."
It was true too. She was all of those thinfs and more. Lucas admired people like that. They were so bold. He turned his eyes back on her, frowning a little. "Are ya worried what people think of ya?"

Clover looked back at him patiently. He seemed a little uneasy to answer. "Well, before Ah actually met ya Ah just knew that ya were..." He paused, trying to figure out how to word it. "That ya were... very unfortunate. Ah felt bad that you were hurt all the time, and Ah meant to talk to ya one day. Honest. It happened sooner thant Ah thought, and Ah'm glad it did. Now, now Ah know that ya are smart, talented, and very strong."
She smiled happily, people rarely spoke that kindly of her. She turned quickly all of a sudden and hugged him quickly but tightly. "Are ya worried what people think of ya?" She then looked down slightly, biting her lip.
"Y-Yes..." She said honestly. She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "I-I don't know why, I shouldn't...but it's just that I don't get along with people. And when I finally do..." She suddenly started thinking about how her and Jude had grown apart and she lowered her head more. She shook a bit and wiped at her eyes. She was really quiet and hurt at the memories of Jude haunting her. "M-Maybe I should go..." She said really quietly, her voice shaking. The sound of it was obvious that she was crying.

"Y-Yes..." Clover admitted, brushing a strand of hair behind one ear. Lucas frowned at the tone of her voice. She sounded upset. "I-I don't know why, I shouldn't...but it's just that I don't get along with people. And when I finally do..."
Go on, he thought. I want to hear more. Don't give into the pain.
She trembled and wiped at her eyes. "M-Maybe I should go..." Her voice shook as she cried.
Lucas took his guitar and moved it to the side so he could sit next to her. "Hey, c'mon now," he cooed comfortingly, placing a hand on her shaking shoulders. "Don't go. We were having such a good time. And if ya leave, Ah'll have to cry," he joked tenderly. He brushed a tear from her cheek and shook his finger like one would after taking a thermometer from a patient's mouth. "Bein' sad is never fun, but bein' fun is never sad."

She smiled and laughed a bit, glad at his joke as he tried to cheer her up. She was greatful that he was actually taking the effort and time to cheer her up. She sniffled a bit, waiting till she calmed down a bit more.
When her breathing eased and she was finally able to keep calm, she turned to him. "I'm just thinking of my best friend who left me. He doesn't want to be friends with me anymore." She explained to him.
She sighed and lowered her head, feeling as though she was the one to blame in all of this all along. She enjoyed how he actually care for her and she looked over at her new friend with bright blue eyes.

Lucas smiled when Clover laughed lightly, sniffling and calming herself down. He clasped her hand in his and patted her palm, a gesture his mum had taught him to do. Clover regained her composure and wiped her eyes once more. "I'm just thinking of my best friend who left me. He doesn't want to be friends with me anymore."
Lucas furrowed his brow, drumming his fingers on her palm. Finally, he shrugged his shoulders. "His loss." That fool. He sure was missing out on a lot. Lucas felt that Clover had a lot to offer.
He met Clover's bright blue eyes and grinned, showing her pearly whites. His gaze lowered to her palm. Lightly, he traced the lines and ridges with an index finger. "Palms of hands and soles of feet can tell a lot about a person," he educated absently, continuing his traces. "See the lines on your palm here? They're connected in the shape of an M. That means that ya'll be very wealthy." He showed her his own palm. "Ah have an M too, and Ah'm very wealthy. Not necessarily in money, but Ah'm wealthy in friends and education. And everyday, Ah feel like Ah meet someone new, or learn something interesting."
He winked and cocked an index finger at her. "Everything that happens in a day is for ya, Clover. It's meant for ya. So store it in your bank o' knowledge and keep it safe because only ya know what ya need to do with it."

Clover watched Lucas for a moment. He was a very peculiar person and unique, which she liked a lot. She looked down at what he was doing with her hand and watched him tracing the lines on it.
She smiled, very grateful to have this moment with him. “Where did you learn about this?” She asked gently. “What else does my palm say?” She asked him curious. He really was good at this. She couldn’t help but blush a bit around him, maybe he had this effect on a lot of girls but she had to quickly turn her face away as to not embarrass herself.
He winked and cocked an index finger at her. "Everything that happens in a day is for ya, Clover. It's meant for ya. So store it in your bank o' knowledge and keep it safe because only ya know what ya need to do with it." The winking and the way he spoke contributed to even more blushing and she didn’t say anything now, afraid of mumbling her words.

The transformation that had suddenly occurred in Clover was amazing. She was smiling at Lucas shyly, looking intrigued at that same time. The Scottish teen offered her a warm smile, happy to see that she was feeling better. “Where did you learn about this?"
Lucas looked at his own palms, flexing his slim fingers. "My mum's all about astrology and fortune stuff. Not sayin' she's all voodoo ooo-ie-tiki-tiki-Ah-roast-kitten's-head-and-sprinkle-the-remains-in-a-magic-potion-witchy like, but she's pretty involved with it all." Talking about his mother always made Lucas feel slightly homesick, but mostly proud. His mother was the gentlest soul he knew and a lot of his odd talents came from her.
“What else does my palm say?”
Gently taking Clover's hand in his, Lucas ran his thumb over her own thumb knuckle. "Ya thumb knuckle's smooth," he remarked. He held up his own, showing her how his sort of jutted out. "Mine's knobby. Means Ah like to take arguments like a shovel head. Ah like to dig deep in the ground and pretend it's not happening, or ignore it. But ya have smooth thumb knuckles, so words roll off ya. But even though they appear to roll off, they actually stick and wound ya." Slowly, he rolled her hand over and placed his finger tips in the grooves of her knuckles. He squeezed his fingers gently and felt the knuckles hold. Smiling, he closed his hand over hers and met her gaze. "Ya're very fortunate. More than ya know. And though it may not be apparent now, it will be later. Ya're a good luck charm." Cracking a grin, he tilted his head. "No wonder ya name's Clover."
Suddenly, Lucas had an idea. "Idea," he said brightly, taking his hand off of hers and rested his fingers on four of her knuckles. "These are ya four good luck charms," he educated gently. "Each one means something different." He tapped her index knuckle. "This one's present. Ya index finger is the one that ya jam a lot and such, so it means that ya've got stuff goin' on now. Take care of it." Next, he tapped her middle knuckle. "This one's anything bad that's goin' on. Evil, nasty crap." He wrinkled his nose. "That's why people flip the bird with this finger. So be aware of it all the time. If it hurts or is sore, it probably means that ya need to work something out. Here, your ring finger. It's love, that's why rings go on it. It's ya lucky finger and usually tells ya when someone ya like is around." He winked, moving to her pinky finger. "And ya pinky is ya promise keeper. That's why pinky swears were made. My mum used to say, 'Lucas, ya always keep ya promises or ya pinky will fall clean off!' So mind that ya do! Else it might." He laughed gently, letting his hand rest on hers.
Smiling again, Lucas tugged each of her fingers. "Present, evil, love, and promise. There's ya four leafed Clover."

This was all a lot of information for her to take in. She loved how he was saying good things about her, not just laying everything terrible out on her. She smiled and looked down at his hand. “Your knuckle isn’t that jagged.” She said softly, placing her hand a bit over his for a moment. “I wish I knew more about fortune telling...personally, I love astrology. “ She whispered.
It was true. She aced the astrology class and had even been moved up a year because of it. She smiled and leaned back against the steps a bit. She laid down and shut her eyes, listening to everything around her. She enjoyed the sound of rustling leaves coming from outside. It was just so peaceful. She opened her eyes for a moment to look at her new Scottish friend.
“Thanks for hanging out with me this morning. It’s nice to spend the morning with someone.” She said softly, sitting back up a bit for a moment. She watched him and tilted her head a bit, looking at him for a moment. She was trying her best to not really do the creepy stare at him but she was really curious about him. He was so kind and caring.

“Your knuckle isn’t that jagged," she said, placing her hand over his for a second. Lucas smiled, glad for her comment. "I wish I knew more about fortune telling...personally, I love astrology. “ She leaned against the steps and closed her eyes.
"Thank ya," he said, grinning at her. "Being in company makes everything a lot better." He caught her look and smiled devilishly. "Now, Ah know what ya're thinkin'. 'My GOD, he's amazingly handsome! Ah don't think Ah've ever seen someone as handsome as he is! Ah think Ah'm going to name all my children Lucas in the future!'" Chuckling, he clasped his hands together and leaned back against the steps. "What's on ya mind, if Ah may ask?"
