What had the night been planed for? Honestly? Standing in a corner, wearing a cool costume and a stupid mask. What had happened? Chris’ best friend had convinced him to go insane. Eating sugar and getting himself hyper before being thrown at a girl who wanted to socialize less than he did. What could top a lovely night such as the one previously described? Getting handed a little envelope from a head of another house telling him that it was up to him to get together a small group to go rescue the headmistress of the school. Yeah, this was going to be a night to write home about. Not that Chris had anyone to write home about, but that was beside the point. Well Chris had torn out the envelope, read it, and pulled his acquaintance, gently, by the arm. He also yanked the nearest Ravenclaw he could recognize over.
“You, see if you can find Jude Emmet and Clover Asher. Have them meet Chris Asher outside by the nearest tree.” Chris said in a hushed voice to a boy. The upperclassman gave Chris a worried look, but didn’t ask questions. He wandered off in what seemed to be a distinct direction. Chris sighed, pulling Bethany along for the ride. Once they were at the specified tree he groaned. Pulling his mask off and running his fingers through his hair.
“How could… how could Ms. Corwin…” The note was vague, but he knew where to look. He felt the key in his pocket, he kept fingering it with his free hand. He put the mask back on, “I’m sorry to be dragging you into this Bethany. I can explain if you… want to help.” He offered, sounding a bit hopeful, but more apologetic than anything. Hope was something foreign to him. He was giving up on hoping all together, nothing good ever came from wishful thinking. You were just let down when everything fell apart.
Chris slumped down beside the tree, wishing he was Casey, for the umpteenth time. That boy was what Chris could never be, hopeful. Chris looked up at Bethany, “The Headmistress was kidnapped today I suppose. She’s being held hostage in the basement of the old ministry building. I believe she is alone right now. But we have to get her out before anyone comes back… We being, myself and some others. It would be excellent if you chose to help me with this. I know I met you tonight, and I should never ask this of anyone, but if you think you can help…” He let his words just trail into dust. He couldn’t really ask. Couldn’t finish the request, he was pessimistic to the extreme and he just hoped Clover would show up soon, even if it was with the idiot. He’d only called for him in hopes that Clover would be less reluctant to show up.

Bethany had been sitting there with Chris, when he decided to talk to a Ravenclaw boy, and drag her along outside, to a certain tree. She blinked a couple of times, and tilted her head to the side.
“I’m sorry to be dragging you into this Bethany. I can explain if you… want to help.”
Bethany gave him a strange look, and bit her lip, before opening her mouth. "Help? With what?" She was very curious, curious indeed. She didn't quite understand at first, until he began to explain anyways.

She began to slightly understand. The Headmistress was gone, and it was up to some students to save her? That was very interesting. Did Bethany buy it? Yep. She believed it, because she saw that he was actually meaning it. "Well, I guess I can try to help. I'll help anyway I can." She gave a couple short nods, and a huge smile.
She was glad to be helping, because this would help her in .. personality skills. "So, are we going to make up a plan when the others come, or do you have one already?" She asked him, quite interested in the project they were doing.

Clover was sitting in the Great Hall when suddenly quite a large barn owl flew towards her, flapping its wings gracefully. She was currently sitting with Jude and he sat very close to her. She didn’t mind him sitting so close but she just thought it strange considering they weren’t even dating. She didn’t fully understand why they weren’t dating in the first place so she had been currently staring out at the window, thinking a lot.
She did not go to the Masquerade as she did not fully feel well enough to go out and party. It was a shame considering she had bought a beautiful midnight blue dress for the occasion. She’d have to save it for another time though. She quickly snapped out of her thoughts when the owl swooped down a letter flopped onto the table in front of her.
She looked at Jude curiously and grabbed the letter, holding it between her hands for a moment and then she stared at the front. Her name was on it but it never said whom it was from. Curiosity overcame her and she opened the letter hurriedly, almost ripping the letter itself as she was so curious.
“Chris Asher wants to meet you.” The letter said. She was wondering a bit why Chris didn’t simply come and speak to her. She had already told him that she was not going to the Masquerade; she wasn’t able to tell if he was upset or relieved over this news, she did enjoy the food they had in the Great Hall for the stragglers. There were a lot of different kinds of sweets that would make anyone’s mouth unhinge from the draw in order to eat as much as they could.
If he simply wanted to speak to her he would have come himself but sending a messenger...the case must have been much more serious though. She got up quickly, rushing to her room to grab her broom from the broom closet. She was allowed to keep her’s in her room now that she was named Seeker on the Ravenclaw team. The only place Chris would be is at the building next to the Ministry; still at the Masquerade.
She didn’t even have the time to explain to Jude what was going on but soon enough, she grabbed her broom and rushed towards the grounds. She felt bad leaving Jude behind so she ended up grabbing him and she sat on the broom stick, kicking off the ground as soon as he climbed on.
She sincerely hoped she was going the right way as she had not seen where all the students were going to get to the building. She believed that it was north though and she flew off, holding tightly to the broom as thoughts raced through her mind to what was going on. What if something dire happened? What if he was dying and his last wish was to see Clover before he was off? Yes, Clover had quite the vivid imagination in situations such as this.
The chilly fall breeze blew against her skin quite strongly as she lowered herself on the broom to move faster. She then noticed the shape of building in the distance and recognized the Ministry building. “There!” She smiled and turned downward sharply, going to land a little too hard but she didn’t really care at the moment. She hoped that she didn’t lose Jude along the way. She finally reached the ground and yelped, turning downward a little too sharply and she smashed along with Jude into three garbage cans outside of a small food shop. It was quite loud, the sound of tin echoing through the air.
She rubbed her head irritated, forgetting about Chris for a moment as she was a bit dizzy from the crash.

Jude had really wanted to go to the Masquerade mainly with the hopes to dance with Clover. Not just any dance but to slow dance with her. He’d love it. Of course, they’d all have masks so he wondered how he would know if he was even exactly dancing with her in the first place. He then suddenly pictured himself dancing with Mrs. Fletcher, the cranky, old, teacher at Hogwarts.
This made him gag in his mouth. That would be embarrassing- mixing Clover up with Mrs. Fletcher. He wasn't implying that Clover had the body of a seventy year old woman, it was just confusing when everyone was wearing masks.
He sat beside Clover at the Great Hall and he was currently contemplating in his mind. Sure, sitting beside Clover was nice but at the moment, he really wanted to wrap his arms around her and just sit there. He was about to finally do so when suddenly, a large owl came swooping down.
Damn, now she was too distracted and within a few moments, she had gotten up and ran to the Common Room. He was worried that something terrible had happened; she had run away so quickly! He followed her eventually to outside and then went with her. “What’s going on?” He asked and didn’t have a chance to receive an answer and they were then airborne. Another damn, he wouldn’t mind flying the broom at the moment and now he was pretty uncomfortable hanging onto the broom.
He then got a thought in his mind and smoothly placed his arms around her, holding on just like that. He smirked and just sat there, not asking any questions about whereabouts at the moment. He had his eyes shut- he wasn’t afraid of heights, he just enjoyed the moment.
Soon, he felt them going down to land and then he opened his eyes, seeing tin garbage cans and he hit the ground a little, hearing clanging of the cans as both he and Clover landed into the garbage cans that were luckily empty.

Chris was already feeling nervous about the whole idea. How was he special? Why did he diserve this kind of responsibility? Why not Casey, even? He was a prefect. Those were good for something, right? And it wasn’t as if he was far away, right? They could have asked him. But no, it was Chris.
Chris looked at Bethany, his emotions hidden deep, as always. He didn’t look emotional, or nervous, just because he’d worked for so many years to lock that all up. It was like an art form. Keep the world out, and they kept you out… but at least they couldn’t touch you. The only way anyone got to Chris was through Clover, except tonight. Now he was responsible for the group to go rescue his headmistress… what?!
“Help? With what?” Bethany paused as she listened to Chris’ story. He was liking her more, just because she was silently taking it all in. she was listening, and she wasn’t interrupting. And, of course, she wasn’t acting ignorant or annoying. Chris couldn’t stand that sort of person… unless he had too.
“Well, I guess I can try to help. I’ll help anyway I can.” She said nodding and then smiling. Chris gave her a brief smile to prove he was at least pleased. “So are we going to make up a plan when the others come, or do you have one already?” Well she certainly jumped into it right away, Chris was impressed, at least a little.
“I just found out inside… so I don’t have a plan yet. I sent for my sister and her…” He growled instead of finishing. “Anyway, I don’t know…” His voice trailed off again, this time he was watching two people on a broom stick. He watched them crash into some trash cans and he cringed. Then it occurred to him that Clover was probably one of the people. He ran to her, giving Bethany a quickly look to reassure her she was supposed to follow.
“Clover? Are you alright?” Chris asked, quickly helping her to her feet and away from the trash cans, and coincidentally… Jude. “C’mon, let’s go back to the tree and Bethany and I can fill you in.” He said, not even mentioning Jude.
