Professor Catherine Zupan, known as Caity to many of her friends, sat cross-legged on the floor in the middle of her Ancient Magicks classroom. Her long brunette hair was tied up in high pony tail to keep it out of her bright blue-green eyes and today she had chosen not to wear the normal school attire. Instead, she wore black leather pants and a silk red tank top for comfort.
With a glance around the room, Caity took in her new arrangements. The right side wall in the classroom was lined with books shelves filled to the brim with ancient leather bound books that many modern day wizards and witches even knew existed. The other wall had everything from targets against the wall to shelves lined with different ceremonial items. Candles and incense burned atop each of the shelves giving the room an other worldly feeling. Instead of the usual desks, the students would be sitting in big comfy plush chairs which were placed all around the room. In the middle of the floor was a large white pentacle, drawn in white paint. This is what Caity said in the middle of.
Her classes would be starting soon, Caity thought to herself as she waved her hand and watched as an unlit candle floated off one of the shelves and landed in front of her.
Her classroom, the words sounded so foreign to the young witch in only her early twenties. She was a teacher here at Hogwarts now, tutoring young and impressionable minds about old magicks. Some might have thought the idea was ridiculous, but to Caity it was really the only thing that made sense for her to do.
And teach them Caity would.

Two small, lengthy animals crept into the Ancient Magicks classroom. Their red/brown bodies seemed almost similar to the untrained eye but the two were, in fact, different. One was a longer and smaller weasel while the other was a shorter and larger marten.
The weasel, called Ben when he chose to show himself, moved closer and closer to the woman in the middle of the room. He was completly silent as his companion waited in the shadow of a cusion. He brushed himself softly against her foot and kind of hiss. His eyes flickered up to the woman's head and he scampered up her leg to rest on her shoulders.
In his head, Sam, was laughing. It was typical to do this type of prank to the new professors and the boys were known for it. How this particular witch would react was beyond him.

Caity, who had been about to light the candle, jumped slightly at the sudden appearance of the creature that had scampered up upon her shoulder. For a short moment in time, the young professor had been on the urge of casting a spell on it, but upon realizing it was a mere weasel(and thank goodness not a rabbit) she softly laughed.
With a raised eyebrow and stifling her quiet chuckles, Caity raised a hand and reached to pet the weasel. She wasn't aware that there were any weasel's as pets at Hogwarts, but she had been a student attending not too long ago and still remembered that things weren't always what they seemed.
In fact, they RARELY were.

Ben made a kind of hiss and his fur stood on end. His back arched and he leapt down from his perch on her shoulder. Not exactly the reation I wanted... he complained silently. Oh well. I can deal with this, he thought with a mental smirk. It would have been quite a sight to see the weasel smirk but alas, it did not.
Sam began to laugh again, suddenly making noise as he did so. It was not in a marten's nature to laugh and so it came out more as a hiss or snarl than anything. As he heard himself, he immediatly closed his mouth and lowered himself farther into the cusion. This was Ben's prank and he couldn't ruin it.

((Sorry I hadn't come here, yet Caity. >_< Now seems like a better time... Mweeheehee...))
Danny and Muffin walked into the new professor's classroom. As he did, he saw a weasel leaping from her shoulder and a similar martin apparently hiding in one of the cushions on the floor. He quickly shrouded himself and his feline partner in shadows and hid in a corner, as not to be seen. He had to hold Muffin, so he wouldn't chase the animals and possibly hurt them.
Muffin, however, had no intention. They smelled human. It was probably the human trick of turning into an animal. He had seen it a few times.
A trick, perhaps? A normal martin... or weasel... or... whatever, wouldn't just wait for its counterpart... Animals almost always work in pairs when a counterpart is involved... he thought, and a malicious grin spread across his face - a counter-prank was in order. Concentrating a bit, Danny caused a blot of shadow to appear around the martin in the cushion.
Let's see if you react like a normal animal would... he thought. He wouldn't get the one on the professor's shoulder, because if it were an actual weasel, since it was still close to her, it would surely hurt her. Either way, Danny always had a Plan B.

Sam was suddenly taken over by darkness and he hissed quite angerly. Human or not, it was just not natural to, one moment, have perfect sight and the next moment be completly blinded. He backed away from the cusion quickly and began pushing his head violently in his paws and, when that had no effect, pushing the top of his head against the floor.
Being such a larger animal than a weasel, the marten was not hard to see tossing his head about on the floor. His size made him tall enough to reach the midpoint of a person's calf. Ben made no further motions at the professor but instead, hurried over to the animal almost twice his size and immediatly became himself, lifting the marten in his arms.
"Trapper! Trapper!" he said loudly. The marten ceased his movement and lifted his head to his friend's voice. He could see again. He hissed and Ben set him down. It was their own language and Ben understood that hiss to mean 'put me down.' Sam formed from the marten and looked around.
"That was kinda weird..." she said slowly.

Danny grinned from his invisible post in the shadows.
Banvald, he thought Just as I had planned, one of them must have been human. I knew that would force one to revert, but both... Just wonderful! Now let's see... Comment or watch...? Oh, so difficult to decide...
He figured to just wait and see the professor's reaction to the little trick. Maybe, being a teacher of Ancient Magicks, she would know of his little power. He already knew. However, he wanted to know more... He quickly dispelled the cloud of shadow to prevent further examination, though.
If cats could laugh aloud, Muffin would have been a riot, probably out of Danny's arms. It was quite amusing to see humans so startled by being blinded. He knew full well, though, were it him, he'd probably be a sight to see, walking continually backward on instinct alone, unable to control himself. It was quite humiliating.
((banvald = BON-vahld = perfect))

With a raised eyebrow, Caity watched the two creatures transform into students. She wasn't very surprised though. When she was still a student, a friend or two of her's could do the same thing, but they never chose rodents as their animal form.... A small smirk lit up Caity's face as she said, "Hello kids. Welcome to my classroom."
The cloud of shadows hadn't startked her either. It had perplexed Caity slightly though, she had never seen a magick just like it. She had seen many similar kinds, performed them even, but never seen something quite like that.
"You can reveal yourself also," she said gesturing for the student, and his cat apparently as she sensed, to come out of the shadows.
"Now... what are you all doing here today? "

Ben looked at the teacher. "I was looking for my still, though it doesn't appear to be here. What about you, Trap?"
Sam shrugged. "I don't know. I think I lost my sock but I'm not sure." He held a solomn face as well as Ben and they both looked serious as they told her their allabis. Both were joking of course. They had come for the class, as much as they hated to be there.
Ben looked behind him and dropped down ungracefully onto a cusion. "Oh, how comfy. Love the atmosphere in here... So... Well, charming definatly isn't the word... What about creepy? Yes. That's it. Creepy."
He looked at Sam and they nodded to eachother.

Danny sniffed. She didn't see him... How did she know he was there?
"Hello, Professor," Danny said, setting Muffin down and melting away the shadows, "I'm looking forward to class." He gave a quick smile and came forward.
Muffin went to the new professor and meowed pleasantly as a greeting.

"Thank you," Caity said with a small, eyebrow raising smirk at Ben. Although the two seemed like trouble makers, the new teacher found she liked them. Of course, that may be because they reminded her of a person or two she used to know in her days at school. "I like it more this way."
Turning and giving the other boy a warm smile, Caity said softly. "Thats good, because I am looking forward indeed to having you in this class also. " With a gesture toward a seat, she continued, "Take a seat."
Caity then turned and stooped low so that she was more level with the big cat. "Hello there," she stated with a small twinkle filled with amusement in her eyes. "Are you here for the class also?" she asked and reached out to scratch the gorgeous(albeit big) cat behind the ears.

Danny immediately followed his instructions and took a seat close to the front. As strange as the front of the class felt, he didn't want to miss a breath.
Muffin purred as best he could as the professor scratched him behind the ears. As she did, he moved his head to each side and rubbed against her arm.

Ben looked around again. "When's class ganna start, again?" He turned to Sam before he looked at the teacher who taught the class.
"I think we're a bit early, Hawk," he said, keeping a straight face. He turned to the teacher. "So what are we learnin' today, Caity?"
Sam leaned back on his elbows, trying to find a comfy position on the cusion. This task was fairly easy to Ben who seemed quite content using the cusion as a pillow.

With a mysterious smile, Caity told Ben as she continued to pet the cat, Muffin, "Today we will be focusing on meditations and channeling. For a person to be able to act as a conduit to the more ancient of magicks its essential to be able to do them properly."
With a glance at the clock, the young teacher wondered when the rest of her students would be showing up. Caity shrugged and said to Danny, "You have quiet an intelligent cat here.."

Danny smiled as she complimented Muffin. "Muffin has to be smartest animal I have ever known," he said, then caught himself, "Thank you."
Muffin was content with the compliment and attention, and so he went back to Danny's side, sitting down next to him.
