Hisoka sighed heavily as he stepped into the Leaky Cauldron. It was fairly crowded, the sub-conscious shields around emotions lowered. His empathy gave a painful twinge, but he chose to ignore it.
They had managed to escape the school and here they were, in London. He wasn't sure why they were here, or how horrible he appeared. He knew it must be bad; Hisoka hadn't managed to sleep properly since the horrific death he'd inflicted upon Muraki. Mortal enemy or not, it had been inhumane. He was regretting it; no matter how much pain Muraki had inflicted upon him and Tsuzuki, Hisoka was the one who felt guilt. That in itself was messed up.
Hisoka sighed heavily, stepping aside from the doorway and waiting for Ruana to follow. She was still here, no matter what kind of monster he was becoming.
((The title is the song I'm listening to xD))

Ruana followed Hisoka into the pub, duffel bag over her shoulder, clutching Benji in one arm, broomstick under the other, shutting the door begind her. Her eyes burned with fatigue.
"We're free," she managed to croak quietly. The two of them hadnt't spoken much on their journey; they were each lost in their own thoughts. She had almost forgotten how to talk. It had been many days.
Pulling some money out of her pocket, Ruana led Hisoka up to the desk. "It would be cheaper just to rent one room. Perhaps we can have another bed set up." She said to Hisoka.
An old man walked up to the counter. "Shouldn't you two be in school?" He wheezed.
"Yessir," Ruana said plainly. The man did not ask for an explanation.
He folded his gnarled hands on the counter."What can I do for you, then?"
Ruana smiled sweetly. "We'd like to rent a room."
"Just one?" He asked, screwing up his bushy eyebrows.
"Yessir," she answered, "we haven't much money." She held out a small handful of Galleons and placed them in front of the man's hands.
"Very well," he said, counting the coins. After he was sure they'd paid him the right amount, the man dug through a small box and pulled out two rusting iron keys. "One for each of you," he stated, handing them each a key. "Room 249. Have at it."
Ruana smiled. "Shall we take our things up to the room then?" She asked Hisoka once the old man had vacated his spot behind the counter.

"Aa..." Hisoka agreed. "Sankyuu, misata."
Hisoka frowned slightly. His accent was thicker; he had gone from English to Engrish out of pure exhaustion. He adjusted the bag on his back, crossing the bar and heading up the stairs, eyes lazily scanning through blurred vision for 249. Sighing in relief, Hisoka turned the rusting key in the lock, the door opening with a loud squeal. Hisoka cringed at the sound, human screams of terror and pain playing through his mind.
Hisoka stepped into the wooden room, dropping the bag from his back. He immediately sank to the ground, sighing in relief.
Finally... I hope we're safe...

Ruana, too, let her things drop to the floor, incuding Benji, who padded over to the double bed and pounced onto it, curling in a little ball. It was an okay room. A little drafty, but that could be fixed.
"It seems surreal," she murmured, shutting the door quietly and wandering over to the window. People bustled about the streets of Diagon Alley, huddled close together in the biting cold, but laughing all the same. "How did we make it here?" She asked nobody in particular. "I never thought it'd come to this. We actually left Hogwarts." She turned around to Hisoka. "How were we not caught? Isn't the security really tight around the entrances?"
She remembered slipping by a guard and through some secret shortcut. "We got lucky I guess," she answered herself and fell onto the bed. She, too, was exhausted.
"Shall I send for another bed?" She asked, stroking a loudly purring Benji and kicking her shoes off.

It was strange how easy their escape had been. Hisoka had even told the majority of the school's staff he wasn't going to stay. Had anyone even realised they were gone? It was possible his other friends ((Pride's other characters)) had noticed, especially that strange one.
"No, don't bother. I'll conjure one later," Hisoka replied. After all, he was seventeen, though he certainly didn't look it.
Hisoka closed his eyes, wondering whether Touda had told Tsuzuki what he had done yet. What would Tsuzuki do?
"Tsuzuki..." Hisoka murmured painfully.

Ruana eyed Hisoka pitifully, but knew he hated the pity so shook it off. "Hisoka..." she murmured in return. "Why haven't we gone to him if you miss him so?" She asked. She really did wonder. She did like the professor, and wouldn't mind seeing him again.
Benji meowed in agreement, his left eye closed. "You are one weird cat," Ruana said when she saw this.
Something inside of Ruana did not want Hisoka to conjure another bed.
Stop it, Ruana! Haha. You're smitten. Shut up, Etholeka.
"So Hisoka," she began, "what exactly was that fiery thing that you conjured?"

"I don't want to see that idiot because he'll start blaming himself for what I've done," Hisoka replied, glancing towards Ruana. "I hate it when he does that... he thinks he needs to save everyone one and thing he can, and when he fails, no matter what happened or who was involved, he blames himself. And Tsuzuki... he's easy to break because of it."
Hisoka let out a long sigh, before considering her other question. "Touda's a shikigami - a god which can be summoned by the right person to aid them in battle. He's a fire-element, so I'm not his natural master. He's Tsuzuki's, but a while ago, Tsuzuki asked his twelve shikigami to protect me too. So, on his request, they'll answer to my calls."

Ruana listened carefully to Hisoka. For as much as Hisoka loved Tsuzuki, he did have a lot of negative things to say about them. Well, nobody's perfect. Ruana knew that from experience. She had to learn the hard way.
And the Touda. "That's fascinating," she thought aloud, laying on her stomach, her chin resting on her hands and her feet wiggling about in the air. Benji mewoed again, left eye still closed. Kneasles. Think they're so smart.
Ruana stroked his back. He purred. Loud. Freaking motor.
"So what now?" She asked, looking around. "How long do you reckon we'll be here? And will we be on the run forever, or can we actually do things?"

Hisoka shrugged. "I don't know."
He frowned slightly, considering their options. "If the school notices, they'll warm the ministry and our families. I don't know how your parents would react, but I know I can't go back there."
"Monster!"
"Kill it, Nagare!"
"You're not my son! You demon!"
Hisoka shook the memory from his mind. "They'd also contact Tsuzuki, who would go insane and send his shikigami to search for us. Touda would say what happened... for a while, it'll be very hard to do anything. If we don't want to be found, we'd probably be best to skip countries."
As logical as it was, Hisoka didn't want to leave England. He didn't want to be in a completely different country to Tsuzuki, but if it meant their safe escape... and Tsuzuki would find them, there was no doubt there.
"What do you think?"

Ruana thought hard. Everything she had, no matter how little that everything was, was here in England. She wasn't sure she could leave. She thought harder.
"Isn't there..some sort of..." she paused, racking her brain, "cloaking spell or device or something? Can't you summon something to hide our location? Is there anything? As much as I don't want to be caught, I don't particularly want to leave. If it's the only option, I will, but...." she paused again, starting to mentally panic, "isn't there another way?
There has to be I'll try to figure something out. I'll leave you for a few days. Really? You can do that? I think so. Let me try...
After a moment of silence, Ruana started to feel pain. Horrible, excurciating pain that seared through her veins. Resisting the urge to scream bloody murder, she sat up and clutched her chest, starting to cough. A moment later, a ball of golden light flow out of her mouth during one of the coughs. It spoke.
"It worked!" The light said. "I'll be back in a few days. Don't leave yet."
The light gave a bright twinkle before escaping out of the window.

Hisoka's eyes widened as Ruana started coughing. He watched helplessly, horrified and amazed as a gold light emerged, Ruana's emotions and aura cut in half. He watched the light, transfixed, before it disappeared via the window.
"...I guess we're staying here for a while, right?" he asked, ignoring the "what the hell?" question. The logical part of his mind reasoned that Ruana and Etholeka had seperated. That didn't hault the stunned mullet face. Hisoka quickly regained his composure.
"I don't know too much we can do - perhaps hiding our auras? Would that even do much?" Hisoka added calmly.

Even as Hisoka spoke, Ruana stared in awe at the window. That had never happened before. "That has never happened before." she said, massaging her throat. She looked back at Hisoka. "Well," she began, deep in thought, "Ethoeka said she'd try to figure out something. That's why she left."
Ruana looked over at the window once more for only a moment, then back. "She's good at that sort of stuff...she'll find something."
I think.
"Yeah," she reassured herself, "she will."
I hope.
Ruana smiled. "Why don't we talk about this tomorrow?" she said finally, pulling her green and blue plaid pajama bottoms and an oversized orange sweatshirt out of her duffel bag. "We both need our rest. I'll go use the bathroom for a minute, gotta brush my teeth and stuff. I'll be back in a bit."
Without another word, she pulled a ZipLock baggie with toilettries inside it and marched off to the bathroom, where she lightly shut the door and locked it. Not that she had to worry about Hisoka barging in, it was just a habit.
In the bathroom, before doing anything, Ruana gazed into the mirror above the sink. "Damn you," she murmured almost in a whisper to her face. She hated it sometimes. Her braces cut into her lips and and took to brushing her teeth furiously, making sure to get underneath the wires. After her face was washed, her hair was brushed and she was dressed, Ruana felt extraordinarily warm as she grabbed her things and exited the bathroom.
"All yours," Ruana said, shoving the things back into her bag and pulling back the bedclothes. She sat down, sighing, and pulled the blankets up to her shoulders.
Laying down, Ruana stared at the ceiling, praying for happiness. Things were beginning to look up, but she still felt empty.

Hisoka nodded, climbing to his feet unsteadily. Having no care for gravity, he continued walking anyway, dragging his backpack behind. He locked the door, scowling at his deathly pale ((ACCIDENTAL PUN!)) face. Dark bags were evident under his eyes, which were puffy and red themselves. In other words, he currently looked a wreck. It was suited. Stripping his shirt away, Hisoka traced fingers over his now smooth skin. Before this ordeal, scars marked the curse's claim, only turning to red and burning him after a nightmare or thought of his rapist. Now, even the scars from his blade were gone. Hisoka was glad. He wasn't a broken doll anymore; after four years, he was finally free of the possessive curse. It seemed surreal. A familiar thought filled his mind, one of a new "owner". He brushed it aside with a blush. Did Ruana ever find out what Muraki did...? Hisoka wondered. His memory of the incident was quickly blurring; the sadistic glee he had felt was the main memory. Ironically, the one he wanted to forget most. Shaking his head quickly, Hisoka splashed water over his face. He swiftly changed into pajamas, spending minimal times vigerously brushing is teeth. He repacked his bag, keeping his wand in hand as he went to the door, tried opening it, only to recall that he had locked it. What the hell is happening to me...?Hisoka emerged into the room, muttering a spell as he flicked his wand. A simple single bed sheeted with dark colours appeared before him. Without a word, Hisoka crawled under the covers, his head hitting the pillow. Subtly, he pulled that weird chicken from his backpack and curled himself around the plush, wondering why silent tears fell down his cheeks. ((Is it dark or not? I didn't read anything about it being dark, so I'll pretend the lights are still on ))

Ruana watched as the flustered Hisoka emerged from the bathroom after rattling the door a few times. She would have said something, but she was "asleep". She watched his every move through squinted eyes, pretending to be lost in slumber. She rolled over on her side and looked at his heaving figure in the bed. She mentally sighed.
Why is it, she wondered, snuggling her blanket closer, that whenever I am interested in anyone, there is something there in between us.
Ruana began mentally listing off things that stood in between her and Hisoka: Tsuzuki, her appearance, Tsuzuki,...
Don't be selfish, Ru, she warned herself, grateful that Etholeka was gone for the time being, don't blame Tsuzuki. There are more fish in the sea.
Yeah, but they're not Hisoka...
What is WRONG with me? I hate how quickly I fall.
With that, her eyes welled with tears, she allowed them to fall, eventually silently weeping herself into a dream filled with sorrow, murder, and lost romance.

Hisoka could sense Ruana's distress. He frowned. It was clear what she felt for him, especially with empathy. It would make much more sense for him to love her; a nice, caring girl who stuck with him, always. There was no social taboo in such feelings.
In all honesty, Hisoka had no idea why he fell for Tsuzuki. The man was lazy, over-expressive, sugar-crazed and a general idiot. It was too easy to get mad at him and Tsuzuki was more childish than Hisoka ever was.
But, then again, that was just Tsuzuki's mask. Tsuzuki would hide behind humour rather than bring everyone down by expressing his sorrow. If anyone was in danger, Tsuzuki would come running and give everything he could to protect the victim. Even if he was prone to extreme guilt and suicidal thoughts, Tsuzuki had traumas in his past Hisoka didn't even know of. Hisoka wanted to know Tsuzuki, all of him. He was too obsessed now to ever leave or forget his lover.
A sad, knowing smile spread across Hisoka's lips. He pulled GuShoShin closer to his chest, eyes fluttering closed sleepily.
"Suki daiyo... Tsuzuki..." Hisoka murmured before falling into a dark slumber. The taunts and hatred still invaded his dreams, but somehow, the pain was gone.
