Bradly was proud of himself. He had actually got this drabby excuse for a room to get a little cleaner. Things were neatly placed where they should be and the cauldron was over a fire.
"Still...awfully musty here, wouldn' y' say Cupid?" The pink owl sat up on a perch, eyes closed. He preferred the darker, drabber parts of the potions room to take naps...but it wouldn't be so peaceful in a little bit. Bradly's first class...and he hoped they weren't out for his blood.
The potions master sat at the front of the room, cleaning out a dusty cauldron. Sure, he could have used magic to do it, but he always did prefer the Muggle way. Call him old fashioned, but his father had always told him that a good arm was the best way to earn a living.
A thud on the stairs caused Cupid to wake up. He hooted in agravation, but he ruffled himself up and flew from his perch, landing on Bradly's shoulder. Too much racket...an owl can't get any sleep around here...He complained. Bradly luaghed, finishing up the cauldron and placing it to the side. He stood up, moving Cupid to another perch near his desk."Its bound to get louder ol' friend...jus' don't go and perch on any chaps' head, 'kay?'He said, feeding the owl a biscuit. Cupid lowered one eyelid in a slow wink.I'll try to control myself.
Bradly luaghed again, moving back over to make sure everything was in order. Bradly's other partner(he hated the word pet. He didn't believe anything living to really be a "pet") Mordred, lay curled up on his chair. The ferret looked up at Bradly's approuch and did an awkward look that could have accounted for a smile. Bradly sighed, crossing his arms."Move Mord...I don' wan' to sit on y'." The ferret brislted slightly, but did a lazy stretch and scampered off the chair and down the hall. I didn't want to stay anyway...with all those annoying children... With a flick of his tail, the ferret ran out the door and into the halls. Bradly simply shook his head, sat down, and waited.
As he waited, he took out the key he had retrieved from earlier on. He moved it around in his hands, sighing."Why do I get the bad feelin' y' gonna get m' into trouble?"He asked himself. His eyes hovered from his feet to down towards the door. The trunk was still there, under his bed in his dorm. He hadn't opened it...he didn't want to open it...there was something really nasty in there that he didn't want to touch. He scruntched his forehead into thought, then laid his head back."Then why is the thought still there?!"He almost screamed at himself. Cupid lifted up his head and blinked. With a quiet hoot, he spread his wings and fluttered onto Bradly's shoulder. Bradly smiled, turning around and patting the owl on the head. He always did prefer the company of animals...
