Bradly was moving about the potions lab, a hum upon his lips. Ever since that incident with Erin down at the Forest, he had felt...lighter? It was odd...but ever since that day, his heart had the song that it had lost so long ago. Now, it was normal for an Irishmen to love to sing, to love music...but Bradly had always loved it the most of all.
Bradly had been a fond music lover while the rest of his family couldn't stand it. He had learned to play the pipe at a young age, and when his voice had developed, he had learned to sing. Irish ballads, Epic stories. He had loved to sing them all. But then...when his brother had died...
Bradly snorted and shook his head.No...he wasn't going to think about that...he would wait for class to start...He sat down, looking up. Double potions with Gryffindor and Slytherin....oh joy. He moved to his desk at the front and opened up his book. He began to take notes and waiting for those dreaded doors to open.
Mordred slept curled up on an old chair in the corner, breathing quietly...but not for long when the students would come bustling in. -----------------------------------------
The Beauregard twins had always loved Potions, especially when they blew stuff up. Professor Dickens was good at that...making Potions interesting. He always said "Be Creative!" and "Add things that don't always exist!" Troy did a impersonation of the professor as he walked in. "Remember students...Potions is more than just adding in toxins and herbs...it is about using the mind to discover." Lilian laughed, covering her chuckles as she moved to sit down.
"I wonder if the Professor will like my new ideas for fake mustaches...I think he'll be intrigued..."
"I dunno sis...intrigued doesn't sound like the right word to me..."Troy laughed and sat down, looking up to Bradly.

Julie rushed down the hall, trying to look unhurried, but still hurry. It didn’t work to well. She tripped and slid on the floor. She frowned as she picked herself up. That just didn’t work well. She picked up her books and looked down. Her robe looked all right, but there was dust on her clothes beneath. She sighed. Years of her mother’s obsession with looks and frills had Julie smoothing her robe down, so that at least on the outside she looked presentable. She stood to her full five-four and started back down the wall, a little slower this time. Better to arrive a little slower than to not arrive because she sent herself to the hospital wing.
As Julie approached the door to the potions classroom, she heard a familiar voice speaking. “. . .adding in toxins and herbs...it is about using the mind to discover."
Julie smiled. Lillian was in her class, which probably meant was Troy was, too. She has met the twins in the Gryffindor common room while it was raining outside. They had helped her start the fire in the stubborn fireplace. She liked them. Julie pushed open the door and heard Lillian speaking to Troy, again. “"I wonder if the Professor will like my new ideas for fake mustaches...I think he'll be intrigued..."
Fake mustaches? Julie was intrigued. She glanced around the room trying to see who else was there. She saw only the twins and the redheaded teacher. She smiled at him and began to turn to speak to the twins. She heard Troy laughing as he said, "I dunno sis...intrigued doesn't sound like the right word to me..."
This was not what caught her attention. It was the small furry creature in an old chair in the corner of the room. A farret. She looked at it fascinated from a distance for a moment and then turned a brilliant, dimpled smile in the direction of Lillian and Troy. “Hi, Lillian. Hi, Troy. Looks like we have class together.”

The twins were sitting down as the door opened again to emit a familiar face.
“Hi, Lillian. Hi, Troy. Looks like we have class together.”
"Julie my girl!" Troy said, a huge grin crossing his rogish face. He liked the young Gryffindor and had allready said he would make sure she wasn't picked on. Lilian simply smiled and nodded. She too liked Julie and was willing to make sure the young girl felt welcome.
"I guess we do have class together!"The twins said in unison.
Bradly looked up from his desk to give a welcome nod. He had only had young Julie a couple times in class, but she seemed a smart girl. He nodded. "Hello Ms. Marlow."He said with a grin, then looking toward the twins."Mr. and Ms. Bearegard."He said rather warily. Those two were trouble...though they never gave him a hard time. He mostly just heard it from Ms. Briggita or Amanda....which he didn't approve of. Well...he didn't approve of anything against Ms. Defenstine....but that was a story for a different time.
Mordred lifted his head to the noise and yawned. He shook his furry head and bolted down from his chair. With a slight clamor, he rushed up Bradly's arm until he rested on his shoulder.

“Julie my girl!” The twins both smiled at her. Troy’s was a huge grin. Lillian was silent at first, but smiled all the same. Then, the twins spoke in unison. “I guess we do have class together!” Julie really liked the twins. They were fun. She was going to like being in class with them. “This is going to be fun.”
“Hello Ms. Marlow.” Julie looked up at the teacher. She was quick enough to catch his expression change from a grin to weariness as he noted the other students in the room. “Mr. and Ms. Bearegard.” Julie wondered what they might have done to cause that look. Thinking back on their earlier conversation she remembered what they said about mischief. She also remembered what they were saying as she had entered the room. Some people didn’t like mischief. She didn’t really understand that. What they labeled as mischief, she watched with keen interest. “Hello, Mr. Dickens.” She smiled warmly at the teacher. She looked forward to learning about potions, one of the many things about magic she had never been exposed to.
Julie watched as Mr. Dickens’ ferret took notice of the goings on in the room. She smiled as he ran up Mr. Dickens’ arm and rested on his shoulder. “What’s your ferret’s name, Mr. Dickens?” She watched the ferret fascinated. Unlike magic, animals where something she had been around plenty. Her mother would never have allowed her something so exotic as a ferret for a pet. Julie snorted at the thought. Her mother would never have allowed her something so exotic as a rabbit let alone a ferret. She was lucky her mom allowed her to have Monty. Her mother probably didn’t consider her cat as very ladylike, but Julie never really liked lady like, so she didn’t really care. “Does he come to all your classes?”
“I like ferrets,” Julie confided in the twins softly before she walked over to a chair near where the twins were sitting and sat down. “I’ve never seen one up close though.” With an ironic smile she added, “My mom didn’t think animals were ‘ladylike’. I can’t stand ladylike.”

Bradly looked up as he was adressed by Julie.
“What’s your ferret’s name, Mr. Dickens?” Bradly smiled, scratching Mordred under the chin."Mordred. He's been a friend of mine for years...."
He loved animals...other than the fact that he could talk to them...but he didn't tell many people that.
The twins put on their most angelic smiles as they winked at each other, but looked back up. Bradly simply scowled. Those two were up to something...
He turned back to Julie and nodded to Mordred."YOu can say he's my keeper...of sorts."He smirked.
“I like ferrets...I've never seen them up close before." Bradly smiled and let Mordred scamper from his arm to the table, then down on the floor. Go give the girl a look...He said to Mordred. The ferret looked up, gave a slight shrug, and scampered across the floor and onto Julie's lap. He tilted his head with a slight mischivious grin.

Julie watched Mr. Dickens scratch his ferret’s chin. "Mordred. He's been a friend of mine for years...."
Julie’s hand itched to reach out and touch the ferret, Mordred.
"You can say he's my keeper...of sorts." What an odd thing to say. “What do you mean, Mr. Dickens?” That was when the ferret scampered across the floor to her desk and climbed up to her lap. She looked down at him, the grin on her face growing by the second. He tilted his head and grinned back up at her, mischief on his face.
With him so close, Julie couldn’t resist reaching her hand out and touching him. She scratched his chin like she had seen Mr. Dickens do. “Hello, Mordred. I’m Juliet, Julie. Nice to meet you.” She knew he couldn’t understand her, but his look was one of intelligence, and she could always pretend he did.
Julie looked over at the twins. “Do you like animals?”
