It didn't take much planning, anyone could have done it, really. But it was Calvin that Erin Arthur had approached. She really wanted a New Years party, primarily because she really wanted an excuse to drag Remy somewhere and kiss him. She had decided early that Calvin James was the best choice for a top notch party. Calvin had a different opinion.
"I said no."
"Aw, come on, Eddie."
Calvin turned on her, forcing her to bump into him.
"Don't call me that. My name is Calvin," he snarled.
Erin held up her hands in defeat. "Okay, okay. Calvin. Why won't you do it?" She must have had a death wish, pressing Calvin on something he didn't want to do. He growled something under his breath and turned back toward the lake. "Come on, say something!"
"Bugger off, Arthur. I don't want to do it." Erin narrowed her eyes and stomped in front of Calvin, stopping just in his way.
"Now you just shut up and listen to me." Calvin folded his arms but didn't move. "I want this party and you and I both know you are the best at getting things done. I offered you 10 galleons before but I will go up to 14. Now are you going to do this or not?"
Her voice was so forceful, angry. Calvin's lips crooked up in a grin.
"Sure." He held out his hand. Erin fumbled in her pockets for the galleons.
"You get 7 now and 7 at the party." As she dropped the coins into his palm, she began describing what she wanted.

Don't let teachers see.
New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend.
The few notes were passed through the school throughout the week. If any teacher happened to see it, no problem, the nose was only visible with a certain spell. The only thing that would show regardless of the spell was the way to know the spell: hAh33/top. [Book: Hogwarts a History, top of page 33.
It was now December 31st. There was only half an hour until the party officially started but Calvin was already there. The space in the forest had been cleared by some half giant during the Harry Potter era of the school. He knew of the dangerous creatures that still stalked through the forest so he had taken precautions to make sure they couldn't get into the clearing. He had even made a "tunnel" with spells to keep the students safe. A few of the upper classmen in their 9th or 10th years had helped him with this but he wasn't about to tell anyone that. Some of the younger students who were just dying to be accepted by the older students had helped put up the decorations. He had handled the ballons and confetti himself, but they wouldn't be released until midnight. The light blue and silver banners hung in the trees along with a few stars cut out of cardboard and covered in reflective paper. Erin had said she wanted a cutout of the Eiffel Tower but that was too corny and Calvin hadn't done it and the full moon cut out she had wanted wasn't nessicary since the real one was shinning through the trees, casting beams on the wooden floor Calvin had formed.
Cal sat on a tree stump he had smoothed. A few other stumps surrounded the dance floor as well as a few logs cut length-wise. He adjusted his shirt, a light forest green shirt. The barely-there collar had three buttons but none were buttoned and his sleeves were literally cut a few inches from his shoulder to show off the muscles in his arms as well as the bracelet he had doned. The basis was twine but it had canvas coloured beads and a couple metal ones. Cal sighed, looking around at his creation. Only a couple of the galleons were still in his pocket, the rest lay around him, cashed in for the decorations everyone would have torn apart by the end of the night.
Erin strolled through the clearing grinning. She waved at Calvin with unrivaled enthusiasm. He raised an eyebrow and raised a hand in greeting. She approached and his eyes followed her, narrowing when she started to sit. He didn't like whatever she was trying t-- Erin scooted into him, attempting to push him over to the other half of the stump. Calvin shook his head, and when she just stared at him, scooted over. Calvin really did love women but pushy, hyper ones like Erin Arthur were just not his style. He liked the quiet, intelligent females.
"Ready for the par-teh?" she asked, bumping her shoulder to his playfully.
"Not particularly."
"Well, too bad," she said as he head turned to the sound of someone approaching. "It's starting."

Parties that either you, or our best friend throw is always the best ones. Not because there is always food you actually like, or not because there is actually more people you know, but because at that moment through out the whole night you feel completely and totally high and mighty. You feel like you can do anything or construct any rule and they have to go by what you say because it is your party (or your best friends party). You feel like the center of attention. And Oliver Spence always felt that way in his parties or in the parties his best friends made. He especially looked foreward to tonight party that Calvin was holding. It was in the most dangerous place (which is always a plus in Olivers book), and it would certainly top all the other parties students have tried to have. But he would also be able to bully the younger students, that is, if they decided to show up. He found out about the party in his usual detention after school. He was sitting in the back, his feet prompted up on the desk in front of him and he sunk himself so deep in the chair he was all warm and cozy. But instead of sleeping, like he normally did, he had wadded up pieces of parchment and was tossing them at the other kids that were in the room going through the same thing. They all flinched as the paper wod rammed into the back of their head. Neither of them turned around in fear of getting punched. In the middle of his games a small kid that looked almost shaken that he had to give a paper to him, came in the room. He stopped right in front of Oliver, who stopped in mid throw to look at the new comer who dared to come in his way. "I- er- Calvin... he-" The poor kid didn't even get the sentence out before he forced the piece of paper in Olivers hand and ran out. Oliver giggled in glee as the child left. Was he really that terrifying? Refocusing on the paper, Oliver adverted his eyes toward the paper that was crumbled up in his hand. He unfolded it and squinted at the scribbled out note from Calvin. Don't let teachers see. New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend.
He folded the paper back up and grinned. He knew at that moment that he had to get out of detention. He put his feet back down on the ground, got up from his chair and simply walked out as if he wasn't worried about what the teachers would do to him. He went to his room and changed into light jeans, a white under-shirt and then a dark blue sweater over it. He shook his hair around giving it very unkempt but sexy look. He looked at himself one more time in the mirror and walked out toward the party. Once he was there, he didn't waste time in looking around. He grinned at the place and then spotted his best friend, who of course wasn't as obnoxious as he was. "Hey," his was slick and smoothe as always, "Tonight is gonna be awesome." He looked around and spotted Erin, a student he really never thought of talking too more then... just saying 'hi' or asking a question in a class they had together. He nodded slightly and moved back to his friend. Tonight, he had big plans. [[Admin Edit: 2 galleons given by Gin (This ought to be fun )]]

Dane Tigerthon, now very much alive, frowned at the piece of paper lying on the floor. Even a simple task like getting to your girlfriend's dorm was a challenge nowadays. Pieces of paper up and getting in the way, invading a man's walking space..."Oi, paper," Dane confronted it. He'd be damned if he was going to get stopped by a thin piece of tree... "Look here. I have places to go and things to do. So scoot!" If the paper gave any indication that it had heard him, it didn't show it. Growling, Dane pranced a circle around it, daring it to make a move. A flutter was his response. "Yeah, that's what I thought," he snorted. He stepped on the paper before continuing on his way (probably all of this would have been avoided if he'd just done this in the first place), whistling a merry tune. When he reached Dani's door (that fat lady certainly was in a foul mood today. Yes, he did know he wasn't supposed to be in there. It was exactly why he was going in there), he suppressed a cry of rage. The paper was clinging to his shoe, stubbornly telling him it intended to make everything harder to do. With a frustrated sound, he peeled it off before grasping it in his fist and jabbing an angry index finger in its wrinkled and torn face. "Now, what did I- Hello, what's this?" He unfurled the crinkly edges, brow furrowing as he read. Don't let teachers see. New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend. Ah, a party! That was exactly what he needed. He'd go get Dani and take her along as well. It was the perfect way to get reunited with everyone and introduce Dani. Dane enjoyed the 'two-birds-with-one-stone' method. (Although it was considerably hard to put this saying into action, believe him. He'd tried.) That was why about an hour later he was pulling Dani down the main hall while trying to make as little noise as possible. She was being very unhelpful, stopping every once in a while to moan about something. Dane took her hand firmly in his and pulled, resembling a single huskey dog trying to move the sled. "Dani, you're sooooooooo slooooooow," he whined, tugging on her hand some more. "We haven't even made it to the door!" With a growl of frustration, he suddenly put an arm on her shoulder blades, bent down to wrap his other around the back of her legs, and swooped her into his arms. "I will drag you kicking and screaming if I have to," he muttered, starting to march off to the door while carrying her bridal style. The walk was uneventful, so Dane made it more exciting by pretending to stumble and almost drop Dani a few times. _____________ Despite being not very social, Lucas had decided to give this New Year's Eve party a try. Well, not really, but a few other musicians he knew sparingly had threatened to tie him and drag him there if he didn't go willingly. He had given in, purely for his own benefit, and had retreated back to his dorm room to get ready. Nothing fancy. Just some jeans, a nice black shirt with a band on it, and no beret. Lucas fussed with his hair in the mirror, wearing a bored why-am-I-going-to-this-damn-party face. Pouring some gel into his hands, he ran them through his hair once or twice before debating on what to do with it. He decided to spike the bangs a little and just leave it at that. It looked neat that way, he liked it. Lucas stepped out of his dorm and into the common room. He stopped, spotting a familiar face on one of the overstuffed chairs. Was Jessie going to the party too? Only one way to find out. He strolled over to her casually, making a big show when he finally spotted her. "Jessie? Fancy meeting you here," he slapped a hand to his forehead, mouth open in shock. "What a pleasant surprise! Small world, small world..." He winked before sitting cross legged in front of her on the floor. "So, you going to that New Years Eve party?" He asked hopefully. She better had been... Else he was taking her with him. [[Admin Edit: 2 galleons given by Gin.]]

Casey had not been happy. His sister had hose weird red bumps that itch. She had been too sick to write him, so Jeremiah had sent him a letter. Short and sweet. Dear Casey, Candice has the chicken pox. She can’t write right now. She keeps crying and Mom won’t let me touch her. I’ll read her your letter when she’s better. Don’t you have a girlfriend yet? You’re like eighteen. You’re such an anti-social. You’d better do something or mom will start asking me if I’m going to be the one giving her grandkids… I’m nine! Well bye, -Jeremiah Philip ChristosCasey sighed. Why was his nine year old brother telling him to date? There was something sick and twisted about that statement right there. He shrugged. It wasn’t as if he wasn’t social. He went to the masquerade, he even danced! Now he didn’t dance with a date, he danced with a friend, but still… that was social. Maybe Rori would agree to pretend to be his girlfriend? His mom might get off Jeremiah’s case to get on Casey’s case. But Rori was fifteen, Casey was eighteen, his mom might not buy it. Who knows, it might still work. He shrugged, that was something to consider later. Right now he had a note handed to him as he walked back to his common room. Don't let teachers see.
New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend.Well… Casey considered his options. He was friends with Julie, but she was in another house. He was friends with Rori, but she was also in another house, and most likely going to show up anyway. Then he had Chris. He looked up from the note. Chris was sitting on a couch. And there was no way he was going. Casey grinned. “Why are you smiling like that, Christos?” “Do you have party clothes, Asher?” “P-party clothes?” Chris asked, standing up. He snatched the paper from Casey’s hand. “Oh-No. No, way are you going to make me go to that. There is no way ever. It’s a party. A party held by a guy I don’t know, in a place I don’t like… and it’s a party.” Casey continued to grin, and needless to say it wasn’t that long before Chris was standing in front of Casey, glaring at him like he wanted to stab him in the heart. “You look good.” Casey offered, bursting into a fit of laughter. It wasn’t the clothes or anything, it was just that Chris was glaring at him like that, and yet he was still going. Casey had managed to convince Chris to change clothes. The jeans stayed, but the shirt had been changed. Chris was wearing hiking boots, the blue jeans, a gray sleeveless t-shirt, and a red hoodie with a star on the back. Casey himself had changed into sweat pants, which would probably never be considered party wear, tennis shoes, and a white t-shirt with the Ravenclaw mascot on the front. Then it came to the reason why Chris had agreed to come. Casey bit his lip. “You don’t really need to do that… right?” He asked. Chris merely glared at him. “But… I mean I said it in the heat of the moment. You really do need to socialize, Asher. And… um… it won’t change anything…” Casey said. Chris sighed and walked over to him. He pointed down and Casey let out a groan. He leaned forward and felt his hand snatched unceremoniously from his head. He put his hands on his head quickly. “But Chris-“ Casey pleaded, slipping up on the name even. “Christos… it’s a hat. You will survive.” Chris replied, still glaring He then walked over to his chest, put the hat in, and locked the chest. The two walked in silence until they reached the Forbidden Forest, what Casey had begun calling “The Forbidden Party Forest.” *** Jessie was normal. Normal being that she got an enchanted flyer about a party that she’d previously never heard of, in a forest they weren’t supposed to enter, at a school that taught magic. Also normal, if normal is the kind of person who hates parties unless they’re held by a very close friend. And only then because you can steal the friend away, talk to them for a while, and then hide someplace while they social with the rest of their guests. Jessie was not a party person. Now she had gone to the masquerade, but that was special. Because every once in a while, she liked parties. This was not that once. This would make twice. She’s need another month or two before it had been a while, at least. So when she’d gotten up to her common room, she hadn’t given it much thought. She’s gone up to her room, changed from her robes into some jeans and a yellow sweater that, having belonged to Megan, actually fit. Then she’d sent an owl off with her letter to home and returned to the common room. She had been day dreaming about something, and considering what she might do until midnight, when she’d go to bed. But then she heard more footsteps, and a voice, directed at her. There was an oddity in her day. “ Jessie? Fancy meeting you here,” What? Jessie turned around in time to see Lucas, who appeared to have just slapped himself in the face. She’d probably have done the same thing in his position. But she didn’t expect him to act anything like herself, so it was a surprise. She smirked at Lucas a bit. Fancy, eh? They shared a common room… it was fairly normal to see her there, actually. But if he called it fancy… well he’d already slapped himself, so she didn’t think anything else should be done. She figured the slap was intentional… coming from Lucas, but still. “ What a pleasant surprise!” Always nice to hear. She smiled at Lucas, still amused that he was acting silly, though he did that not rarely. “ Small world, small world…” he said, sitting on the floor in front of her, and winking. Jessie took this time to notice something. Firstly, no beret. Now he’d given her one of his “millions” of berets… which she had in her room, but he still usually wore one. Actually he seemed to have an aversion to not wearing one. Yet there he was, without a beret. And, having seen boys for her entire life, though in immensely different context, his hair wasn’t normal. Normal? Yes. Normal for Lucas? No. She continued to smirk at him. It wasn’t a lot gelled, but it had gel. His hair didn’t naturally do what it was doing right then. It wasn’t doing the cha-cha or anything, but still. Black shirt, jeans, that made just about anyone look good. Lucas was the exception to a lot of things, this wasn’t it. “Nice look, Lucas.” Jessie commented, leaning forward, chin in her palms, elbows on her knees. “ So, you going to that New Years Eve party?” He asked, sounding a bit as if he hoped she was. She frowned a bit, but stopped quickly. She blinked. “Why? Are you going?” She asked, raising an eye brow. The options were a, he wanted to talk to her at the party or just wanted her there for some reason, or b, he wasn’t going and wanted her out of the dorm. Well c could be that he wasn’t going and wanted to talk to her in the dorm because everyone else was ditching them and going to the party. She was betting it wasn’t C. Just because she’d come up with it last. D, he was just making small talk for an unknown reason. “I wasn’t really planning on it.” She said after a pause. [[Admin Edit: 3 galleons given by Gin.]]

There was, what seemed like, a million students in the Hogwarts Castle. There are four, that were so excited to go. There was a party, and already, Rori was the first one that wanted her friends to go. She picked up a note that she recieved, and then read it over and over again, she was so filled with glee. " Don't let teachers see. New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend." She had read that alloud to her twin brother, and then sent it off to Bethany, which had gotten it only moments later. Then they agreed to go together. But what about Maria? Maria was more stubborn of the four students, and she didn't want to be caught drop dead with some nit-wits. So when Lane had asked her to go, her first word that came flying out of her mouth was, "No." She didn't like Hufflepuffs. She didn't like Ravenclaws. She most certainly didn't like Gryffindors either. But after she said no, and he walked away, she felt alone. Someone actually wanted her to go with them. She turned them down. How rude. And she decided to go ahead and get back to getting ready, with the note she had already gotten. She didn't understand why she was going to the party in the first place, it wasn't her place to go. It was socializing, with all houses, why? Of course, she'd mostly be flirting with a whole bunch of guys, no matter what house they were in. She wasn't really picky with guys, besides their looks, and...nope just their looks. She didn't mind if they were jerks, or if they were just, them. She liked the jerks more of course. Anyways, lets go back to her getting ready. She had finished settling on her dress, putting on her make up, and everything. She had to do her hair, and find the perfect necklace for the party. She couldn't due without it. She straightened her hair, and felt the black hairs touch her pale skin. Her features looked terrible. She needed a tan. She started to hum a song, as she was looking for a necklace, and when she found it, she picked out a golden locket that her grandmother gave her before she passed on. Maria was thankful for it, and she held it with greatness and everything. She began to put it on, and once she got it on correctly, she smiled into the mirror, and then got the hell out of there. She walked quickly, to most speeds, but it was her speed, all the time. She walked out to the forest, and looked around at the many people there, and walked by a bunch of people, to stand at the tree. She leaned against it, and watched as everyone socialized. --- Now Rori was still back up in the Hufflepuff Common Room, talking to her brother about the party, when she looked down at her clothes. "These clothes aren't going to do," Rori said about to run back up stairs for the 4th time. Lane grabbed hold of the back of her shirt, and laughed a bit. Rori was wearing a blouse and a jean skirt. "Whoa there tiger, your clothes look fantastic. You look fantastic. You need to chill." Lane nodded with his words. He got up and picked his sister up, throwing her over his shoulder. He laughed again, his light chucklish laugh, and walked out of the Hufflepuff common room. He was wearing some nice threads, but nothing that could comepare to the many clothes people were wearing. Lane wasn't the man to care of what people had, accessories, clothing, such and such. But he was the man who looked out for his friends, mostly the friends that were girls, because he was protective, and if anyone hurt them, he would beat them up into the next century. But then he had to focus, seeing as his sister was still on his shoulder. "Lane," Rori said, trying to squirm. "Let me go." She began laughing, oh the good days. She missed having her brother doing this to her more often. She stopped moving, knowing that all the blood in her upper body was going to her head. Her face was turning red. He finally got to the Entrance Hall, and sat Rori down. "Thank you." "You're Welcome." Lane waited with Rori there, for Bethany, one of their closest friends. Bethany was getting ready in her own common room, deciding to wear just something easily put on. She didn't want to wear a dress. She decided to wear a skirt and a blouse. They matched at least, went together. She hurried down the stairs, with barely any make up on, and she just saw her two friends. "I'm ready," She said with a nod. The three took the stance, then left, then linking arms. Rori was in the middle, of course. Lane and Beth were close to Rori, but not as much close to each other. They were still close friends. But anyways, they walked and talked, catching up. It had been a long time since the WHOLE group was together. Once they arrived. Rori found Casey, and became to stare at him gently. Lane snickered, and Bethany playfully punched him. They both started to snicker, and Rori turned around and gave them a playful death glare. "Oh shove it." It seemed ever since Lane found out about The Casey Crush, he's been teasing so much more. She sighed and walked in more, and smiled to Casey, giving a short wave to Casey. "Hey there." She said to him, and felt like such a fool. Lane and Bethany went on talking to each other. [[Admin Edit: 2 galleons given by Gin.]]

Calvin shifted uneasily on the stump as Erin situated herself right up against him. He turned to glare at her just as his best friend entered the clearing.
"Hey. Tonight is gonna be awesome."
Cal watched Oliver nod at Erin and he stood, eager to get farther away from the reason he had done this party. "Oli, you know Erin Arthur?" He tipped his head toward her and then took his friend and led him away with a hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Don't mess with the girl, Erin I mean. You don't want that, trust me." He snickered and patted Oliver once on the back. "Anyhow, decided to come early did you, mate? Most of the school ought to be here tonight and you know what that means: little kids. I've already got a few safe places outside the party area we can go and get some plans out and ready. Just let me know when you're ready." He patted his back again and turned away in time to see to more older boys enter, two Ravenclaws, Casey Christos and Chris Asher.
Erin watched as Calvin pulled his friend away and began whispering. It was odd but boys were just like that sometimes. She had to learn to get over that if she wanted another boyfriend.
It was as if by magic that she turned to see the two older boys walking into the clearing. He was almost perfect. Great features, perfect eyes. She flashed him a grin but was fairly certain he hadn't seen. She was just about to approach him when a younger girl stopped beside him and said something. Her 'croonies' behind her were teasing her about something. The girl was Rori; Erin remembered her from the sleepover the previous year. The other two were her brother Lane and some other Ravenclaw, Brittney or something like that.
Erin looked down at her outfit. She had a silver sequin tank top with the light blue straps of another tank top showing as well as her purple bra straps. She had chosen a little black mini skirt rather than her tight, glittery jeans. The stiletto black heels covered her feet and a small silver anklet with embedded diamonds drapped her ankle. She had even put on her matching necklace and earrings, each with a few dangling silver, blue, and purple strips of reflective paper. The necklace was a small chain with the decorations held in a clasp just above her breasts and the earrings dangled by only a few links of a chain and the same clamp and decoration design. Her hair had been left down but streaked with a bit of light blue and glitter. Even her eyelids had been covered in a light blue shade. And just for the heck of it, Erin had tossed a white cowboy hat with a black strip of cloth seperating the dome and rim.
Erin looked over at Rori. The pip squeak had nothing on the Gryffindor. Erin took off her hat, ran a hand through her hair, replaced the hat with the rim slightly tipped over her eyes and then approached Casey. She stopped a few feet in front of him and moved her eyes from head to toe and back up to his face. "Hey, handsome. I want to tell you, I like what I see. Would I be too forward if I asked you to dance?" she asked, winking and stepping closer to him smoothly, blocking Rori's view and easily making it seem like an accident. Erin paid no attention to the little fifth year.
Calvin sighed, deciding to be a nice host. He left his friend's side and approached Chris.
"Glad you decided to socialize, Asher. Welcome to the world." He held out a hand for the Ravenclaw to shake. There was no amazingly cuddly feelings that Cal had for the other boy but he was raised to be polite and shaking hands was just enough to do that.
++++
David didn't want to socialize. He hadn't done much of it since Grace had left the school--the entire magical world to be exact. His female friends had begged him to go to parties with them, have fun and just let loose for once. He had politly declined, giving an excuse every time, or, when he couldn't think of one, simply telling the truth: He didn't want to go to a party because he would be facing a group of people alone, knowing his Gracie was not there at his side to wrap his arms around and protect from the things she feared. It was depressing.
It couldn't have been much better for the recently single Elle Flor. She had split up with her boyfriend, Ike, just after they had shared their "first time." David had never even kissed Grace so he didn't have that same kind of attachment Elle and Ike had formed. David couldn't stand to see Elle turn into the hermit he had.
"Elle, please let me take you to the New Years party. Just friends, nothing else. We both need some cheering up." He had smiled and even handed her the note he had recieved a few hours previous.
Now here they were, entering the clearing that hosted the New Years party. Calvin James was saying something to Chris Asher. Erin Arthur was shamelessly flirting with Casey Christos while Rori Mills stood behind her, her brother and Bethany Martinez behind her. And Oliver Spence stood alone near the edge of the clearing. David sighed and looked down at Elle.
"Ready, Elle?" he asked.

Don't let teachers see.
New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend.
AJ scowled down at the slip of parchment and sighed. Maybe if he had any friends besides Dani, he could bring them. It was because of her he was coming anyways. Dane, who had come back from his "suicide" and re-swept her off her feet, convinced her to come, and begged AJ to come with her. Him, being the wonderful friend, dammit, smiled and agreed to accompany them. Dane tried to be nice to AJ. He was Dani's best friend, dammit, and hurting her best friend, dammit, was like hurting her. At least, that's what AJ figured. It wouldn't last long, though. Dane wasn't the most book-smart guy, but he was no dummy. He could pick out a head-over-heels guy when he followed Dani around like a lost puppy. Anyone could.
Anyone but Dani.
Crumpling the parchment invitation in his fist, AJ threw the litter in a trash bin and headed out the door. Hair combed perfectly, as usual. Glasses perched on the bridge of his nose, as usual. Furrowed brow, as usual. He looked just like he did any other day, except maybe a bit more paranoid than usual. Paranoid about something he knew was true anyways. That Dani only liked him as a friend. No confused feelings, even. Nothing. He was just her best friend, dammit. Smoothing out his dark green cotton button-down shirt, the boy kept walking, ignoring the sniggers of the members of popular cliques from every year. Most of them were heading the same way he was, but they all were dressed for a party. AJ was dressed for a job interview. Chin sternly up, the boy marched outside and directly into the woods, where a few students had already accumulated.
Dani.
AJ smiled, and then his smile vanished.
Dani and Dane.
Sighing, he walked up to them. "Hey," he said, his voice hoarse. Stupid chest cold.
---
"Do you think it's time?"
Ruana looked over at her cat--who was actually a Kneazle-- Benji, who stared lazily up at her from her pillow. He was massive, his light orange fur and bulk almost covering the entire white pillowcase. He made some sort of chirping noise that was odd, and Ruana took it as a "yes, but if you kill anyone, I'm disowning you". Ruana laughed and stroked his head. "Don't worry, Ben," she said to him. "Nobody will get hurt. I think I can control myself now." Benji did not look convinced, so she added, "And if Elle's there, she can hex me." Benji sighed and lowered his head, shutting his weird green eyes.
Ruana smiled and patted him twice before heading to her trunk to search for something to wear. Since she lost all that weight, none of her clothes really fit, but she did buy one thing in Hogsmeade. One thing that she hadn't gotten the chance to wear yet. Smiling when she found it at the bottom of her trunk, she pulled it out. It felt slinky and fluid in her hands. The vibrant red color trimmed with gold made her grin broaden. She'd forgotten how much she loved this. She even had shoes to match it. Excited as can be, Ruana skipped off to the bathroom with hair products, makeup, her new outfit, and shoes.
Thirty minutes later, a stunningly beautiful young lady emerged from the same bathroom. She was dressed in red, from head to toe (literally). Her silky blonde curls were pulled up in a magnificent up-do, with ringlets dangling about in the back. She had strung some red ribbon in with her curls and fastened a luscious red rose to the side of her head. A few ringlets hung around her face, as well. Her plump lips were painted red, and her large, gray eyes were outlined in a thick, dark liner. Only on top, though. Her eyelashes were like soft spiders, long and lush. There was a faint blush against the pallor of her cheeks.
The dress she wore was thin, red, and barely there, lined with gold. It had a plunging neckline, was strapless, and came only to her knees. The cleavage was outrageous, and her pale shoulders glowed. Her feet were bound in what looked to be only red ribbon, crisscrossing all the way up her calves. However, the ribbons were attached to a heel and sole.
Who was this girl?
The girl, who would reveal herself later as Ruana Sremmos, tossed her old clothes in her laundry bin, grabbed her handbag, and patted Benji once before leaving. The fat kneazle was left staring at her, dumbfounded. Ruana strutted her stuff throughout the corridors, drawing the eye of passersby. She felt confident, which was new for her. All the way out to the woods, Ruana flaunted this new facade. Her heels only sunk into the earth a little bit, but not once she got into the thicket of trees. The ground was hard as iron. The cold didn't bother her, as her skin was already cold enough.
She wondered if Malcom was going to come.

Although it may come as a surprise, Ike Barringer was a rather stupid boy. There are lots of kinds of people in the world, stupid being one of them, plus jocks, preps, nerds, geeks, etc, etc. All of these types can be easily separated into two categories: Invited, or Not Invited. It wasn't that stupidity resulted in an automatic placement in one of this categories, because stupid definitely wasn't as bad as nerd or geek. Yet, when one is constructing a list of recipients of invitations to a party, one will most probably not jump on the idea of inviting 'the stupid one'.
So it was purely by chance that Ike happened upon an invitation to the News Years party in the Forbidden Forest. He certainly wasn't handed one, but in life, good things aren't always given to you, and it's a very bad idea to expect that they will be.
Ike was totally thrilled to have an invitation show up right in front of him. He had no idea it was going to happen, either--but then again, he didn't have many ideas about a lot of things. It happened like magic or something. One day he was performing the native Trabusockeywockeyhockey ritual (which he definitely did NOT make up) of 'dancing for the wind to blow through the fields upon the moose and light its arse on fire' around a little Cabbage-Patch-Kid-lookin' third year. Before he could finish the main part of the dance (involving no pants and a lot of cottonballs doused in glue), the third year ran away and a little piece of parchment randomly appeared, floating in the air in front of his face.
If he were paying attention--he wasn't--Ike might have realized that the parchment had actually gone on a path of travel straight from the approximate area of the third year's hand and flown a perfect parabola-like arch before falling back down to the ground. Ike caught it in a glue-covered hand.

New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend.
December 31st was that day. Nine o'clock was in two hours. This was fate. Obviously. Ike was not specifically invited or a friend of anyone who was specifically invited, but questioning fate would be bad karma. The parchment now stuck to his hand, Ike pranced off to get ready.
-- Ike showed up at the clearing in the Forbidden Forest an hour and forty five minutes later, his manner of dressing a clear indication that he had only spent ten minutes deciding what to wear, and the rest of the time picking an interesting greenish scum out from between his toes.
He was wearing a faded pair of blue jeans, white tennis shoes, and a nice white dress shirt with a collar that would have looked a whole lot better had it not been wrinkled and covered in dog hair and strawberry marmalade. His brown hair was unbelievably messy--not a sign that he was trying to look sexy, but that he had lost his comb down the toilet again. To complete the ensemble, a red-and-green Snoopy tie was looped and knotted in an un-standard fashion around his neck.
Since he had pretty much been invited by fate, Ike could only assume that everyone here would be exstatic to see him. Spotting a couple of boys, Calvin James and Oliver Spence, whom he would not have hung out with on any regular occasion but who would savor his company now, Ike gangsta-walked through the clearing.
"Yo." He nodded at the two, forgiving them immediately for having a conversation when he was nearby. "Sup?" Ike looked back and forth between the two, trying to decide which one he wanted to talk to. He thought that Oliver didn't look extraordinarily joyful to be alive, so he said, "Dude, lighten up." and helpfully showed him how to do so by grabbing the Slytherins's hands pulling him along in a jerky interpretation of dance to the only song he could think of--"I'm Too Sexy".

Ellendie Flor is one of those girls that hold onto grudges for the life of her, sometimes. And in this case (yes I am talking about Ike going around and saying 'I tap that'), she plans onto hold onto that for the rest of her life. She wasn't wollowing in her bed and eating ice cream, no no, she was sitting and reading calmly as if nothing had happened. Now we all know something did happen, they broke up, and in a very drastic way at that. (But are Ike and Elle break-ups ever easy?)
It's simple though to explain. They were eating together, a guy walked by, and Ike pulled Elle close and said 'I tapped that' and nodded to the man as he walked on. Now if this was the first offense by Ike Barringer she would have simply 'huffed' and smacked him. But it wasn't. In fact it was probably the billionth time he had done so. He went around, excactly the day after they 'hooked up' and told everyone. Which Elle didn't like because now everyone had seen her desperate for some action. Which wasn't true, and if you knew Elle you knew that. She was head over heels passionately lost with lust for Ike. She was in love with him. And she still was, even if she wont admit it.
But it is only natural for her to be in love with him still. He was her first love, her first lover. Those aren't things you just forget over night and say 'hey I don't have feelings for you anymore'. The way you could tell she still had feelings was how she refused to talk about him, and when she did she ranted about how horrible he was and the stupid things he did. But secretly in her head thinking how cute she thought it was. She ignored everything that would get him close to her because she knew her heart would melt at the sight of him. This meant sitting at a new end at breakfast/lunch/dinner. And trying very hard to sit at the opposite end of the room in classrooms. She had to get over him, and she will do anything to sucessfully do that.
"Elle, please let me take you to the New Years party. Just friends, nothing else. We both need some cheering up."
She lefted her head up from her book and eyed the fellow Ravenclaw. She knew he was hurting since Grace left, but she wasn't really interested in the party. He shoved the piece of paper that he had in his hand at her, and she took it unwillingly.
Don't let teachers see. New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend.
Now going to a party in the middle of the Forbidden Forest was not a way to keep away from Ike. He would be there most deffinately. It was in a stupid and dangerous place, he wouldn't even think twice about it. Her blue eyes looked back up at David who seemed desperate. She shighed and nodded, "Fine, let me get ready."
She closed her book and went to her dorm room to change. A few minutes later she came out wearing a knee length pink flowy skirt that had white swirls. She had on a white V neck t-shirt and a jean jacket to keep warm. On her feet she sported white slip-ons that had a pink plaid color to them, but the pink was really faded. Her blonde hair was down as always, and a light bit of make-up was put on. "Ok, I am ready," She said smiling and walking out of the Ravenclaw quarters to the hall.
"Ready, Elle?"
Ellendie didn't answer, but gave a slight nod. Her blue eyes were scanning the place as she tried to find who was actually here. She noticed some people from class like, Casey, Erin, Chris and Cal (who always had Oliver tag toeing behind him). She saw someone she really didn't know and then her eyes landed on the devil. She stopped dead. So what was she to do? Talk to him? Stay with David? Go to Erin? No. Erin seemed, well busy. Stay with David and hope Ru comes or someone.
-------
It seemed as if she had no choice in the matter. Dani was going to the New Years party if she liked it or not. She wasn't even dressed for it really, seeing has how Dane came in the room, didn't really explain, just pulled her along. Her brown hair was put in a side pony tail with her bangs loose and in front of one of her big grown eyes (as always). She had on navy blue sweat pants that had been cut at the bottum so it wasn't scrunchy anymore, and a white t-shirt. Her feet only had on little black flip-flops so she wasn't moving fast enough for Dane. Not only that, but she was stopping and trying to get him to tell her where they were going but it was, in fact, useless.
"Dani, you're sooooooooo slooooooow,"
"Sorry, I don't have the motivation you do to go somewhere," She mumbled.
"We haven't even made it to the door! I will drag you kicking and screaming if I have to,"
The next thing she knew she was in Dane's arms. She wrapped her arms around him and looked at the ground as he flew, running as fast as he could. "Dane... where are we going?"
He dipped her, making her squeak and tighten her hold around his neck. "You drop me and you will be very unhappy..."
Once there, she wiggled out of his arms and looked around. It was a party obviously that people were still trying to get too.
"Hey,"
Dani turned around to the familiar voice and saw AJ. She grinned seeing him, "Hi!" She hugged him warmly and then turned to Dane. "Dane, this is my friend AJ, AJ this is my boyfriend, Dane." ------
Oliver grinned at the idea of Calvin having 'plans'. They were most likely good plans at that too. He watched his best friend walk away to talk to some other people he really didn't care about. His eyes glanced around and noticed some other people coming too. This prank was going to be huge if it inculded them all...

Dani's mumblings meant nothing to Dane. He was on a mission to get her somewhere... And by god, he was going to try his damn hard to get it done! There was no time for distractions or petty problems! Not even time to tie his sneakers when he tripped on the laces and almost dropped Dani again. The reached the place without further incident. Dane threw a victory punch into the air. "YESSSSS, WE WON!" "Hey."His face, a mask of pure excitement, quickly turned to a suspicious who-are-you look. Dani wiggled out of his arms to hug the newcoming. Dane tensed. "Hi!" Hi? HI!? Exactly what was that supposed to mean!? Dane glowered further, narrowing his eyes mistrustfully at the other teen. Dani turned to him and he immediately adopted an inquiring and-who-might-this-lovely-chap-be? face. "Dane, this is my friend AJ, AJ this is my boyfriend, Dane."Yes, she would do that wouldn't she... introduce me as the boyfriend...He paused. ...Well, at least she's accurate.Smiling warmly (as warmly as a suspicious man could at another male who was moving in on his cotton field, if you catch my drift), he waved at AJ. "Howdy." He's looking at Dani like he needs her... "I hope you took good care of Dani while I was away." His hair's weird...I bet he takes three showers a day too. He smells too... perfect. "She's my everything." What kind of name is AJ anyway?! Ohh, two letters. Fancy...Inter-monologue over, Dane turned his attention back to Dani. She seemed happy to see this AJ. Perhaps too happy?! Who knew... He instantly regretted the entire portal mishap, knowing full well that if anything had happened with Dani was his fault. And now this... this A of J... He shook his head, clearing it. He had to think. No, he had to act. Giving Dani a light peck on the cheek he smiled at her. "I'm gonna go mingle," he said casually, shrugging the lapels of his jacket in a party boy way. "Got people to meet and stuff to eat." He turned from them, scanning the small crowd. He was waiting for the smallest of signs to announce the arrival of his buddies. A scream of a girl, a fire cracker going off, a pair of underpants or unusual item of choice being thrown at random, anything considered rude and of the utmost vulgarity... There! Over there by those two kids! "Dude, lighten up." Insert dance moves here. It was Ike! Ikus Retardus! Dane tensed his legs to sprint at his buddy, but stopped. That tie Ike was wearing... That Snoopy tie with all of the green and red... It was simply... DIVINE. He had to have it. That had become the mission of the night. To get that tie. Dane would have it. By god, he would have it... So deciding this, Dane settled back on his former plan. How to approach Ike? It would be a bit weird to just jump in and start dancing, seeing as he was supposed to be dead and all... and a pantsing was probably out of the question as well (one, because of the mentioned issue above, and two being Ike's pants looked quite sturdy and therefore unconquerable in a pantsing attack). Dane decided on a standard, subtle reunion. Something that wouldn't draw attention, wouldn't freak anyone... Just maybe a calm stroll over to where his friend was, a light tap on the shoulder... Oh, hell, like that was ever going to happen! Dane launched himself through the small crowd of people to latch onto Ike's writhing- er, dancing form. "IKE, OLD BUDDY OLD PAL! I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SAY THIS, BUT I MISSED YOU!" _____________ “Nice look, Lucas.” Lucas regarded her with mock offense. "Don't Ah look this good all the time?" He thought he did. Smiling, he leaned back as she leaned forward to rest her chin in her hands. “Why? Are you going? I wasn’t really planning on it.” The other teen nodded, sighing. "Join the club," he said, a light grin still on his lips. "And yes, Ah am going. Ya should come too. Ah heard it's going to be the bomb diggity." Well, that was a lie. A gathering of kids in a spooky forest. However dangerous it sounded, it still was just a bunch of kids in a spooky forest. He tilted his head at her, looking mischievious. "So, are ya going to come willingly, or will Ah have to bring the rope out?" [[ Admin Edit: 2 galleons given by Gin.]]

“But if I don’t-“ Casey whined, a hand on his head until Chris swatted it off. “If you don’t have a hat for one night, you will not shrivel up and die. And don’t give me that line about how your hair looks bad. Like you’ve ever cared about your hair before.” Chris scoffed, arms folded in a foreboding manner, just to show how much he really didn’t want to be there. Casey made to reply, but then Rori was there, “ Hey there.” She said. Casey gave her a weak smile. “Hi, Rori. I… need… my hat….” He mumbled, letting his e’s trail on in the word “need.” Lane and Bethany seemed to be teasing Rori, but Casey ignored it. “Hello, Lane, hello, Bethany.” He said. Chris’ eyes widened, turning to see Bethany. Well there was the girl Casey’s dumped him on at the Masquerade, he looked away. “ Hey, handsome.” Someone said nearby. Casey, literally, looked around for a moment. Wait… was that him? Seriously? He looked at the girl. Erin Arthur. She was around his age, different house, fairly- hat! Casey’s cowboy hat radar shot off, her put his hand back on his head, letting out a small groan of near physical pain. Casey totally forgot about Rori, and Chris for that matter, there was a girl, standing in front of him, wearing a hat. Sure it was white, and not a sort of light yellow, but still. He glanced down, for only a moment. Heels, sequin tank top, purple straps from underneath, mini skirt, necklace, hat. Hat, white with a black strip of cloth. Cowboy hat. But wait, she was still speaking, “ I want to tell you, I like what I see. Would I be too forward if I asked you to dance?” Erin asked, stepping closer. Casey, normally, would have been saying something to the direct effect of, “No, asking to dance would not be to forward, but telling me you like what you see, would be.” Then he’d have decided to dance or not, seeing as he wouldn’t be that rude to his friends, usually, he probably never wanted to dance with the girl in the first place. But he didn’t speak. He thought. What did a good spy do? Kidnap bad guys, do flips, carry weapons, do stealth operations, not let their surroundings… THAT ONE! He needed to do that one. Now, he could do flips, he could kidnap people, and he could do the stealth stuff, and his wand counted as a weapon, but he was pretty sure he wasn’t doing that last one. Sure there was more to the spy job, but he had found the first thing he couldn’t do, and he had to work on that. Casey forced, meaning took his left hand and pulled his right off his head, his hand down. He gave her another look, pretty, fine. He wasn’t about to ask her to pretend to be his girlfriend, but he’d all but pushed Rori to the back of his mind. What if someone stole his hat someday? He still needed to do his work, he was treating it like a security blanket, and he needed to move on. Well… just for tonight. “Yeah, sure, we can dance.” Casey said, giving his best sweet smile. Chris scoffed, Erin had just totally stood in front of Rori. Anyone else and he’d have considered it an accident, but Erin? No, no. She was flirty, and those types of girls did nothing on accident. Chris hadn’t dated a girl like that, but he saw enough of them. He felt a bit bad for Rori now. She’d come over to say hi to a friend, and gotten shooed off, more or less. “ Glad you decided to socialize, Asher.” Chris heard. He clenched his jaw, he blamed Casey for that. His name was more commonly Chris, but it seemed everyone who spent too much time with his best friend, was prone to calling him Asher, he sighed. “ Welcome to the world.” Calvin finished. Chris glanced down at Calvin’s hand, he knew Casey was likely to have just starred at it, and said something rude, but Chris, who also had ill feelings, took the handshake politely. “Yeah, sure Calvin. Thanks.” He said, still fairly bitter that his friend had drug him there. *** [/center] When Jessie commented about Lucas’ look of the night, he said, “ Don’t Ah look this good all the time?” She regarded him with a smirk, if he looked good all the time it was one thing. But no matter how good he was supposed to look, he could always look better, she hadn’t met anyone who couldn’t. So therefore, even if he looked drop dead gorgeous, he could have just been looking more gorgeous this particular New Years Eve. Not to say Jessie thought Lucas gorgeous or not, but her point stood, not that he’d know that. Lucas sighed when Jessie asked if he was going. “ Join the club,” He said. Well if he hadn’t been planning on going, why was he going? “ And yes, Ah am going. Ya should come too.” Oh should she now? She raised an eye brow. Socializing with people she didn’t know? That was the left hand. Reading any book she liked or napping? That was the right hand. The right hand won… by a lot. “ Ah heard it’s going to be the bomb diggity.” Jessie hands moved slightly to cover her face. She grinned wide shacking with laughter. Oh, well there was a phrase she hadn’t heard… um… ever? She laughed for a moment, then moved her hands back, smiling wide. “Oh, is that true?” She asked, forcing back another laugh. She really, really, didn’t think of Lucas as the “party” type… so… why was he going? He obviously didn’t want to, but he was trying to make her go. What was that look now? Head tilted, he looked like a imp, somewhat, she raised an eye brow. “ So, are ya going to come willingly,” Well that was debatable. She hadn’t heard anything that made her want to go. “ or will Ah have to bring the rope out?” Jessie smirked, leaning back and lacing her fingers behind her head. She had to admit, she hadn’t expected that, “Didn’t really expect that question…” She said, glancing around the room. Well she could have made a run for the dorm room, where, even if he did try to get in, she could still barricade the door. She glanced at the stairs, a very nice option. But, much as she wanted to flee the party, running to the dorm and pushing Rori’s bed against the door, probably wouldn’t sit well with her roommates. She bit her bottom lip, looking up, then back at Lucas after a minute, “Firstly…” Well she didn’t have a secondly, but she’d come up with something, “Fine.” She shrugged, “Secondly…” She had to say it… had to. “It was totally your description of the party that changed my mind, obviously if you hold it in such high regard, I just can’t miss it.” She said, referring in whole to the “bomb diggity” comment.

Don't let teachers see. New Years party in the Forbidden Forest. 9 o'clock pm on Dec. 31st
Bring a friend.
"Suuure...I'll bring TONS of friends...if I had any..."Remysus said to himself as he stuffed the paper inside his coat pocket. He had the collar up as he made his way into the forest. It was chilly that night and he liked to watch his breath float up into the steam clouds.
He had no need for friends...well...that's what he always told himself. Remysus Darkstrum was perfectly fine being alone...yep..perfectly fine. He sighed, looking up as he heard the arrival of other students. Perhaps..just perhaps...he could get in there. You know, talk a little while, get into the groove...maybe see Erin again. Ever since the Masquerade, he had known that his heart beat beat a little faster when she walked in the door, that his feet tapped to a different drummer as she moved along. He liked her...alot. But he wouldn't admit it. No no no. A Darkstrum never admits when they actually LIKE somebody...at least, that's what his father had told him...
He moved into the clearing, slowly to the back, and removed his jacket. He let the cool air fall on his dark skin and he grinned. It felt good...He looked up, his eyes instantly flashing for "You-know-who". It seemed like a fair enough turn out...and all the better because he had arrived. Hallelujah and pass the biscuits...
"Yeah..."He said...feeling doubt for the first time in...well...years.
Then he saw her, in the corner of his eye. She was over with some...guy. Charles...no...Caleb?No no...Casey. That was right. Casey. He had seen him around, even had a few classes with him...and he was a little to close to her at the moment. He couldn't help feel the rising heat in his face. With a calm air about him, he moved over toward them.
"Would it be too forward to ask for a dance?"
Dance? Hell no no no...
“Yeah, sure, we can dance.”
OH FREAKING HELL NO!!
He glowered at the two and crossed his arms. He didn't like this one bit...but..now wouldn't be the time to suddenly go charging in, like a jealous bull. He was above that...far above that...and that would show he had feelings. A Darkstrum doesn't show his feelings...He heard his father say...and he slunk back, defeated for the first time in his life...

Maria watched as all the children began to swarm, dance, talk, everything. She, on the other hand, was stuck by the tree. What she wouldn't give to be somewhere else, to have friends, or something. She was a stubborn gal though, nothing against that. She didn't want just anyone as friends, but..she just wanted one. She shrugged to herself, whispering jibberish, her eyes closed. She opened her eyes to the sky, her greenish eyes keeping an eye on them, blinking a couple of times.
Maria looked around at the people, and felt if she had not come at all, she wouldn't have been missed. She decided to go out to the middle of it, and find someone to hang out, to talk to. When she did, it turned out a bit embarrassing for her. She wasn't looking where she was going, and she hit the newest person to the party. A boy who seemed to be staring at some girl. Erin Arthur. She had heard of that name. Maria looked up with only a tint of blush on her cheeks. "Sorry. I'd better watch where I am going next time. She nodded and tucked some of her black hair behind her ear. "I'm Maria," She said with a glimmer of a smile on her face.
Rori was being teased, but ignored the two. When Erin asked Casey to dance, she wanted him to say no. When he said yes, she felt like she was going to cry. She wished she would've said something, but she knew that Casey had only seen Rori as a friend, and it was impossible to have him more then that. She looked over to Chris, sent him a wave, and with a hint of sadness on her face, she walked over to a boulder. It was a perfect seat for her, she wanted to sit there. She huddled her knees to her though, and watched everyone else interact. "I'm so stupid," She whispered softly to herself.
Lane followed her sister, but Bethany stayed a few seconds longer. Chris was there, but he wouldn't look at her. She was completely fine with that too. She gave a few more seconds of a glance, and then scurried off to Lane. "Lane," She whined, playfully, "Lets dance." She chuckled. They weren't together, no, but they were gonna dance as friends. Lane gave his sister a worried look, and she showed him a small smile and shooed him off, to have a good time. Rori didn't mind sitting by herself, instead, she enjoyed the night sky. So she lifted her head and stared upwards. Some of her did wish she had someone to hang out with, to dance with, such and such, but she learned not everything can go the way people want it to. She looked back to everyone who was out infront of her, and she smiled to the people passing by. She laughed as Lane and Bethany danced, and shrugged.

Casey seemed to be caught in some moral delima. It was a simple question really. To dance or not to dance. Yet this boy was making it so difficult. The seconds were dragging and the silence was awkward. Erin was on the verge of walking away when she heard his low voice.
“Yeah, sure, we can dance.”
Good boy. She grinned but then her grin faded. He wasn't moving. She stared at him. Ganne do something about it boy? she questioned, keeping it silent.
With a quiet, frusterated sigh, she leaned forward, grabbed his Casey's wrist and dragged him out to the designated dancing grass. She adjusted their hands so that one of his was lightly touching her waist and one was gripped in her hand. Only the former could have moved had he wanted it to. She looked at him, nodding her head in a way as if to say what are you waiting for.
Erin didn't give him much of a chance to start dancing before she began moving her feet and stepping closer to him. It was up to him now: he could let her practically lay on him and end up falling over or he could start moving his feet. Most men chose the latter. Unfortunatly, he hadn't the chance before a tall, dark someone moved in the corner. She squeeled and moved away from Casey, running over to Remy. Erin spread her arms around his shoulders and lay her head against his cheek.
"How is my handsome man?" she asked, not moving, Casey completly forgotten.
+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+
A hand clasped in Calvin's. He nodded and added in a complimentary flicker of a smile. There was something off about Chris at the moment and Cal was too busy trying to put his finger on it as Chris said something.
"Yeah, sure," Calvin said, not at all sure but willing to go with it so he could get away and talk with Oliver and wait for Jase to show up, if the boy had decided it was worth his time, anyway.
Calvin dropped the other boy's hand rather quickly and stalked off to the food table. He had dieted for the last few days so he was entitled to splurging on New Years. A few odd sounds echoed through the trees outside his barrier but Calvin spent no more than a few seconds to set them as birds or squirrels. He picked up a piece of cheese cake in an effort to ignore the people talking around him. Oliver had gone somewhere but Calvin wasn't all too interested in where.
The cheese cake was almost perfect. The only problem was the jello-brand simplicity Erin had insisted on. He had been craving New York style or, even the Germans knew how to make a cheese cake right. Jello did not. Jello-brand was for hicks and rednecks.
Calvin set the piece of cake down, knowing some unsuspecting victum would eat the powder masquerading as something edible. Instead, he picked up an oatmeal cookie that left little to be desired apart from maybe a drink of tea. He turned, looking around the clearing for Oliver.
+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+
David's eyes scanned the room, picking up on the subtle, or not so subtle, hints about the people that had chosen to come to the party so early in the night. He was one of the idiots to do so. David loved being right on time, or even early if he could manage it. Having to bring a female along with him, David had left his room with half an hour to spare, knowing that females tended to constantly have second thoughts about their appearance and took longer in the bathroom getting ready. But Elle had been ready quickly and they were earlier than he had wanted.
He stood awkwardly beside the blonde, trying to decide what to do. He really wasn't a party kind of guy but Elle was and she needed human companionship. Preferably male companionship. Ike was there, doing something odd. But that was normal. He could tell Elle didn't want to approach him but coming to the party was no use unless she interacted with someone other than himself.
So David lay a hand on Elle's shoulder and said quietly, "I'm going over to get something to drink. I'll bring you something." This would give someone else a chance to approach her, if she didn't go hide, that is.
+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+
Calvin watched a new couple enter the shelter of the charms and sighed. David Holland and Ellendie Flor. He sighed and took another bite of his cookie. Elle was beautiful and he would have approached had David's hand not rested on her shoulder. Cal growled under his breath. David was such a pretty boy. He had to be gay.
But David was coming toward him now. The taller boy reached for a cup of punch and then started toward a seat where Elle wouldn't be able to see him. Cal cleared his throat, not wanting to speak to the boy but needing an answer.
"So, you and Elle, hm?"
"No, no. Nothing like that. I just thought she needed someone to spend time with," David said, waving a hand as if to brush away the idea.
Calvin set his cookie down on a napkin and nodded at David who was staring at Cal as if he were a disease. Cal moved toward Elle, pushing his hands into the deep pockets of his jeans. He stopped just short of the girl, quietly looking over her.
After a few seconds he spoke. "Looking for some entertainment, miss?" He smiled, flirting and cocked his head slightly, his eyes sparking at her.

As Ike was uppin' da cheer for Little Boy Blue, he was reminded of a time when the world had too much cheer (preposterous, I know). A time when bunnies copulated. A time when bumblebees dueled with their stingers. A time when roses were just red, not magenta or buttermilk.
Ike thought of this as he convulsed for the two poor, depressed souls in front of him, his joyfilled thoughts saturating his heart with passion.
But suddenly, Ike's care-free world was invaded by something dark, something dangerous... something else that started with 'd' and 'a' but he just couldn't put his finger on it.
"WAIT." Ike stopped abruptly, both hands behind his head and crotch-region thrust out in front of him. "MY SPIDEY-SENSE IS TINGLING!" This was a new and exciting experience for Ike, both because he didn't know he had a spidey-sense and also because it had never tingled before.
Of course, he didn't get a chance to contemplate this phenomenon, for not a millisecond later, something--or someone, maybe Chuck Norris or a ninja--latched themself onto him in a running tackle.
"IKE, OLD BUDDY OLD PAL! I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SAY THIS, BUT I MISSED YOU!"
"AAHHHHHHHH!!!!" screamed Ike, appropriately. "DEMON MONKEY!!" This was frightening new developement. Fate was obviously paying Ike back for peeing while eating fried chicken last Sunday. There was only one way to make sure no one else found out that it was his fault the plumbing had failed, and Ike took his golden opportunity.
Whilst continuing to scream "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" in a terrible falsetto, Ike ripped the delightfully colorful Snoopy tie from his neck and proceeded to strangle his attacker with it. It wasn't until then that he realized this was no demon monkey.
"You're no demon monkey..." he observed, nose-to-nose with what appeared to be a fellow Stooge. The Snoopy tie was still held in a choking grip around his neck by Ike's hands. Without relinquishing his grip, Ike's eyes widened into the face of Dane.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" Ike greeted his friend cordially. "DEAD DEMON MONKEY!!"
